revitalise and refurbish the Sydney Showground Lounge cafe.
‘The Lounge’ café, aprominent hub at the Showgroundhas been
overhauled tobring theareaup todatewith the latest in restaurant
interior design.
Withabroadbrief from Sydney Showground todesignanew
concept for their café area, theExpoNet design teamproduced
anon trend concept and render that blew Sydney Showground
management away.
Witha focus onproviding amodern twist ona vintageand rustic
Parisian interior design feel, thekey elements featured:
• Custommade rustic, recycledwalnut timber caféand coffee table
topswith vintagemetal features.
• Iconic, industrial, Parisian style cafédining chairs.
• Custommade signageadhered to the entry glass doors designed to
marry inwith theoverall theme.
• Anabundanceof industrialmetal lightinghungover the central
areaof theCafé.
• Chalkboardwall display.
• Planter boxes behind the counter toaddanatural and fresh
element.
• Amixtureof loungeand café style seating.
• The introductionof timber outdoor seating to capitaliseon the
views andutilise the space to its full potential.
• Intricate rope featurehung fromthe ceiling.
Oneof themainaims of thedesignwas toprovide an ambient,
welcomingenvironment for patrons but alsomoderniseand energise
the space. Functionalitywas akey aspect of thebrief anddesign.
Particular attentionwas paid to ensureany challengeswere resolved
in theupdate including theuseof someexisting caféequipment,
cablemanagement andmaximising thenatural light available in the
space.
