JCBCEAhas celebrated theproduction
of the 10,000th JCB to comeoff the
production line.
The landmarkmachine, a TLT35D
4x4Eco, was purchasedbyUKwaste
management company, Biffa, which runs
oneof theworld’s largest fleets of JCB
Teletruks. The keyswere ceremoniously
handedover by JCBChairman Lord
Bamford toBiffaCEO, IanWakelin, at
JCB’sWorldHeadquarters, before itwas
pressed into service at Biffa’s new flagship
mechanical biological treatment facility in
Horsham,West Sussex, Englandwhere it is
the sole industrial forklift truckhandling
wastebales.
“Wehave long recognised the
advantages the JCB Teletruk’s forwards
reach ability brings toour businesswhich
iswhywehaveover 50of these innovative
machinesworking at our plants across the
UK,” Ian said.
“Its ability to reach forwards and load
andunload trucks fromone side saves
time, space andultimatelymoney, which
is crucial inan industry as competitive
as ours.We aredelighted tohave taken
delivery of theunique 10,000thTeletruk.”
The JCB Teletruk is highly specifiedwith
a full cab andair conditioning, wastekit
andaCascadebale clamp. It is alsooneof
the firstmachines off theproduction line
with thebrandnew ‘JCBDiesel byKohler’
engine; ahighly fuel efficient Tier 4 Final/
Stage IIIBwhichmeets thenext stageof
emissions legislationwithout theneed for
adiesel particulate filter (DPF), anduses
less fuel thereby improving efficiency.
The JCB Teletruk,manufactured at
JCBUtility Products, Cheadle, Staffs, is a
counterbalanced forkliftwith the ability
to reach forwards. It is an industrial
