Following seven years of R&D investment,
Kennovations has launched a fleet of
customised removalist trailers to offer a
more robust solution in transportation.
In 2004 Kennovations was commissioned
by Kennards Hire to design and develop
a custom product that would outlast
considerable wear, damage and weather
conditions. Now, Kennovations has
released 20 large van trailers; a bigger and
better variation of its smaller predecessor.
During the initial phase, four small van
trailers were designed and sent into the
market for testing over a five year period.
After recognising the existing trailer
had a short life due to wear and tear,
Kennovations developed the van trailers
predominantly for use moving bulky
goods. Cost efficiency in production and
fabrication as well as unit service upkeep
was critical to keep trailer hire costs lower,
while longer life and utilisation was also
necessary to withstand a high volume of
continuous hire.
“Material selection would determine the
durability of the trailer,” Craig Shroder,
Senior Designer at Kennovations said.
The compact Airman PDSF210SC-5C3
box type diesel air compressor from
CAPS Australia features smart design
elements including a built-in aftercooler,
and a water separator that removes
65% of condensate, ensuring better
quality downstream compressed air.
The compressor has an auto-shutdown
system to provide added user safety and
boasts a low engine idle rate of 1,300rpm.

being mounted on vehicles or stored

air bleed (EFPS) pump means air is
automatically primed and bled out of

airend. With noise levels of 67dBA (@ 7m)
the PDSF210SC comes with a range of

“Therefore, we designed the canopy shell
to feature polyethylene with a hot-dipped
galvanised chassis. The plastic canopy
would be able to take knocks from tree
branches and other overhead obstructions
without crumpling.”
The trailer design also meets RMS
standards in order for it to be roadworthy
and aerodynamic. It has a maximum load
rating of 1000kg.
