ExpoNet delivered dynamic installations
for Harteffect – Canon’s creative agency
at the Vivid Sydney festival of light, music
and ideas. The Canon Photo Hubs and
Photo Stops were installed along the
Sydney Harbour foreshore area and were
active during Vivid Sydney festival dates
23 May to 9 June 2014.
ExpoNet collaborated with Harteffect
to project manage the requirements
and construct the installations utilising
custom manufactured components,
10m high without floor fixings of any kind.
“Rent Titan components by the unit - L/m,
short or long term, use your own trades
(carpenter / plasterer or...), incumbent
hoarding contractor, staff or even a
handyman service to install, modify and
remove,” Greg said.
“Titan hoardings were three years in
development, with structural engineers,
industrial designers and our industry
clients heavily consulted during the design
phase to ensure we achieved a simple yet
extremely effective design outcome.
“The system was then beta tested by
installing on various sites for a further year,
to ensure it met every criteria, before being
released to the market,” Greg said.

The innovative Canon Photo Hub and
Photo Stop custom structures were
constructed to ensure free flow through
for public access, durability and safety
being subject to intense public interaction
and exposed to the weather for the full
length of the festival dates. The structures
allowed for media output featuring
speakers projecting the Vivid Sydney
events presentation. The structures also
incorporated graphic elements using

When Baulkham Hills resident Jeff Wong
hired an electric eel from his local Seven
Hills Coates Hire branch, he had no idea
his blocked drain would lead to becoming
the lucky winner of Coates Hire’s ‘Win A
Ute’ Competition and the proud owner of a
new Toyota Hilux SR5.
“I hired an electric eel to deal with tree
roots in a blocked drain. It was so easy to
enter: all I did was reply to a text message
and the rest was history” Jeff said.
“The first thing I knew about it was when
I received a call from Coates Hire on the
Friday before the long weekend.
“The caller asked how the service was and
I said it was very good and then stunned
me by saying I had won the ute – in a
competition I’d forgotten I had entered!”
Jeremy Hill, Coates Hire Group Manager –
Strategic Marketing said: “Jeff has been a
customer of ours since 2004 and the team
at our Seven Hills branch know him well,”
Jeremy said.
“The competition was a great success
with over 25,000 entries, and it was great
to see our branches around the country
getting behind the sales promotion.”
