Tsurumi is the world’s biggest
manufacturer of electro submersible
pumps for dewatering and drainage
applications. The new model, called the
NK2.22 features a 2.2kW submersible
motor encased in a heavy duty cast
iron housing. The pump is designed to
handle the abrasive materials found
on construction sites. The heart of the
system is a semi vortex impeller with a
synthetic rubber wear plate.
Aussie Pump’s Chief Engineer, John
Hales said: “The vulcanised wear plate
resists abrasion and provides long life and
consistent pump performance."

patented ‘oil lifter’ that provides forced
lubrication to the mechanical seal. This
Tsurumi design helps extend seal life.
The semi vortex impeller allows the
passage of large stringy solids. The
unique design accelerates the water
passing through the pump casing,
creating a vortex that assists the smooth
transit of solids in suspension.
Water incursion through the cable entry is
the main source of failure in submersible
pumps. All Tsurumi pumps are fitted
with an anti-wicking cable entry block. It
protects the motor from moisture wicking
inside the cable in the event of the cable
being damaged or the end submerged.
The new Tsurumi NK2.22 features a 2”
top discharge port and a ‘slimline’ body
design and comes with a three year
warranty. A 3” version is scheduled for
launch in Australia early 2016.
