ACCESS in ACTION

Haulotte has a

new Product Support

Coordinator with the

appointment of Brad

Kennaugh into the role

who will be responsible

for phone and technical

support, product

training and warranty

administration for all

Haulotte products and

services.

Brad has been with

Haulotte Australia for

seven years, starting

with the company as a

service technician. After

some years with Haulotte,

Brad moved into training as

a Product Support Trainer

working in the Level 1 Product

Training program.

Following a couple of years

in the training role, Brad went

back on the road for Haulotte

as a Senior Field Technician.

Training role brings out the passion

Snorkel sub-contracted

after-sales care in Queensland

to service provider EPMS back

in 2009; but the company has

now decided to bring it back

in-house.

From July 1, 2012, Snorkel

will provide direct service

support and spare parts

distribution from its

Queensland facility and EPMS

will no longer be the

authorised after-sales

representative for Snorkel.

Snorkel already provides

direct after-sales care to

customers in the rest of

Australia.

Matthew Elvin, President of

Snorkel Australia, said: “We

believe the integrated sales

and service model provides our

customers with the best

possible level of support.

“Over the coming months,

Snorkel will be expanding

its Meadowbrook team by

creating up to 10 jobs and

further investing in tools and

equipment to support our

Queensland customer base.”

Snorkel moved its

Queensland branch to

Meadowbrook, south of

Brisbane, in 2009. The

16,000sqm facility includes

300sqm of office space, along

with product support

capabilities and a warehouse

for machines and spare

parts. Snorkel has appointed

a new Service Supervisor in

Meadowbrook and is recruit-

ing workshop technicians and

field service engineers.

HIGH RISK LICENCES AND

RENEWALS (WP)

The EWPA advises all States now have a

High Risk Licence renewal program.

“In theory holders of a HR license will

be sent a letter to tell them what to do.

The problem is people may have moved

since getting their HR license, so may

end up having an invalid licence. Check

if your HR licence has been upgraded

to the new photo ID type. If not contact

the local WorkCover Department.”

LOADING AND

UNLOADING EWPS

The EWPA recently became aware of

the removal of the exemption for a

WP licence for loading and unloading

EWPs in QLD and NSW. “If you load or

unload EWPs you are now required to

hold a WP licence,” EWPA HQ advised.

“It is now mandatory drivers

transporting boom lifts over 11m have

a WP license if they load or unload a

boom. This is now law in NSW, ACT, NT

and QLD. The EWPA will develop a brief-

ing note on the current regulations.”

When the recent opportunity

arose for the role of Product

Support Coordinator, Brad took

it, and is now settling back into

the training role.

“Fundamentally, our direction

at Haulotte now is more

focused on the customer and

on information for customers.

In line with providing the best

information for our customers,

we make sure our training is

at the pointy end of industry

standards,” Brad said.

Haulotte has now embarked

on a European program for

its trainers and for training

which ensures all Haulotte

Product Support personnel

have been Haulotte trained

to international (ISO)

Standards.

“Our philosophy behind

training is to be very

professional. We travel

to client requirements

and conduct training at

customer sites or conduct

training internally at our

Dandenong facility.

“Basically, we train where

we have access to Haulotte

equipment to give hands-

on experience with Haulotte

equipment. We find people

learn better if they have hands

on experience.

“Training represents a large

investment by Haulotte and is

a complete part of the overall

equipment package when you

buy Haulotte.

“I’m very keen and eager and

passionate about training and

these days,” Brad said.
