MINI EQUIPMENT & EXCAVATION

Hitachi Construction Machinery

Australia’s (HCA) versatile mini excavators

are designed to maximise operator

comfort, productivity and performance

Reliability and powerful hydraulics

feature across all mini excavator models

from the 1.4tonne through to the 6tonne

model. Hitachi’s zero tail swing allows

operators to undertake excavation work

in confined and complex spaces restricted

by limited accessibility. Operator comfort

A Victorian operator has found switching

to Komatsu Hensley Ground Engaging Tools

(GET) has allowed longer working hours for

his heavy excavation equipment, resulting

in less downtime.

Plant supervisor Tory Winnell said at

Hanson Quarry, at Lysterfield Victoria, they

installed the Hensley GET product on their

Komatsu WA800-3 Wheel Loader and,

pleased with the performance, also ordered

the Hensley GET XS50RP2 rock penetrating

teeth for their Hitachi ZX450 Excavator.

“Our machines are working long hours

including double shifts and in this heavy

work load the Hensley GET provides

good penetration in the harsh conditions

working with abrasive rock and are wearing

extremely well.”

Komatsu Australia’s range of GET

solutions through its Hensley XS range of

GET, can be fitted to most earthmoving

equipment.

“This is a significant advantage

for operators running a mixed fleet,

because they can standardise the GET

across all their machines,” Tory said.

Komatsu Australia’s Business

Development Manager - Ground

Engaging Tools, Rod McCallum said:

“The efficiency and productivity of

earthmoving equipment - particularly

excavation and loading machines

can be significantly reduced by not

managing GET correctly.

“The Hensley patented

“hammerless” pinning system makes

for much safer tooth changeover,

which is increasingly important to

operators,” Rod said.

“The superior wear characteristics

exhibited by Hensley XS mean the teeth last

longer.” For more contact: 1300 KOMATSU

Case Construction Equipment’s new

CX300C and CX350C heavy excavators are

the first heavy excavators in the Australian

market to be launched with Tier 4 Interim

compliant low emission engines Case said.

“The CX300C and CX350C offer an 8%

increase in cycle times, a 5% increase in

lift capacity and fine controllability, all in a

package that is both fuel efficient and cost

effective to run,” Case Product Manager,

Scott O’Hare said.

He said there are five new energy saving

systems within the overall Case Intelligent

Hydraulic System.

These include: Boom Economy Control

(BEC), which senses and controls engine

load and fuel consumption during

boom down and swing operation. Idle

Management System (IMS) manages

engine rpm, lowering engine revs after five

seconds of inactivity and shutting down

after three minutes of inactivity. Swing

Relief Control (SWC) regulates hydraulic

flow at the start of the swing operation

to optimise performance while minimising

fuel consumption. Auto Economy Control

(AEC) improves fuel efficiency whenever

the joysticks are in the neutral position,

while Spool Stroke Control (SSC) senses

pressure during the digging operation to

further optimise the hydraulic pressure

requirements for fuel efficient operation.

The new CX300C and CX350C offer a

spacious cab with generous legroom and

storage space with a best-in-class operator

environment delivering ultra-low noise and

vibration.

“Case’s efficient Tier 4 Interim diesel

Ground-engaging tools work harder

The Hensley GET is designed for maximum strength

Smarter, faster Tier 4 compliant excavators

The new CX300C and CX350C heavy excavators

are the first in Australia to feature Tier 4 Interim

compliant engines

engines feature Cooled Exhaust Gas

Recirculation (CEGR) and a diesel particulate

diffusor (DPD) to reduce emissions without

the added expense and complexity of

additional diesel exhaust fluids,” Scott said.

“The automatic self-regeneration of the

DPD ensures no loss of productivity while

the low engine rpm, improved hydraulic

pump control and additional energy

saving systems boost fuel economy, with

no operator input required. You can also

activate a ‘green economy’ gauge in the cab

to help you choose the most economical

settings for the machine and view fuel

consumption in real time.

“We have already seen strong customer

interest in these new Tier 4 Interim

compliant heavy excavators,” Scott said.

Reliable and powerful mini excavators

is enhanced with the choice of an open

canopy or pressurised air conditioned

cabin, high back seats and 3600 visibility.

A reinforced structure with strengthened

blade, arm and boom are features while

superior stability has been achieved

through the integration of the Hitachi

D-frame structure and cast steel

undercarriage.
