Royal Wolf provided construction
company Hansen Yuncken with 70
metres of hoardings to enable safe
passage for over 500 hospital patients,
staff and visitors at the $240 million
redevelopment of Lyell McEwin Hospital
in Adelaide.
With construction next to a four-lane
road, the hoardings had to be installed
on the roadway to maintain pedestrian
access. Royal Wolf hoardings are
independently engineered and certified,
with a 10kPa rating including in-built
concrete road barriers, suited to the
road’s speed limit of 60km/h.
Given site restrictions the flexibility,
durability and efficiency offered by the
Royal Wolf Worksite Solutions range
meant the hoardings could be installed
in less than eight hours. For Hansen
Yuncken the solution did not involve any
construction down-time.

Formit Services has released its new range
of deodoriser products including the Bio
Deodoriser which contains eight different
strains of bacteria and added enzymes.
According to Formit, regular biocide
products only target solid waste below
water level, however the Ultra Fresh Bio
deodoriser’s bacteria allows the biocide to
work both below water level and also on
breaking down any waste piling that can
occur in overused units.
“The bacteria based deodoriser also
works differently to other chemical based

a graffiti removal solution for use on
portable toilet fleets, and fresh fragrance
scent discs to mask stubborn odours.

Drivers though a new certification and
assessment program conducted by Portable
Sanitation Association International, an
organisation devoted to increasing and
developing health and safety standards
within the industry.
“The aim of putting our delivery staff
through the course is to reinforce our
commitment to the new Victorian WorkSafe

our sites and all our vehicles,” Jason Wilson,
Managing Director of Sani-Hire said.
“They’ll be the best qualified technicians
in the business with an eye to detail not

“Because the new WorkSafe guidelines
also cover waste-tanks, we’ve made sure
our 12 pumpers are well equipped to
provide the highest level of cleanliness
and hygiene and our drivers are the best
trained.”
In addition to the pumping and rinsing
out of tanks, WorkSafe has recommended
the following items are included with
New staff qualifications in health & safety
any on-site servicing: checking pumps
and components for effective operation;
repairing any defects; adding deodoriser
and treatment chemicals to the sewage
storage tank; refilling the holding tank with
water; replenishing soap or other hand
disinfectant; replacing toilet paper; cleaning
and disinfecting the internal compartment,
including fittings such as pump and door
handles, the floor, seat and bowl.
“We hope the industry as a whole
will continue to evolve and improve
its standards. We’re happy to observe
WorkSafe’s recommendations and see it as
a step forward. And our staff are happy to
take part in the course; it gives them a real
edge,” Jason said.
Sani Hire has a dedicated servicing
