EVENTS IN FOCUS

At the Pumper Exposition in Indianapolis,

US, Jason Wilson, Managing Director

of Sani Hire confirmed environmentally

friendly practices are growing

internationally as operators discover how

critical it is to keep ahead of customer

expectations and industry legislation.

Sani Hire uses non-formaldehyde

chemicals in the toilet servicing process;

products approved by all relevant bodies.

Formit has bucked the trend to go

offshore and has invested in Australian

manufacturing with the launch of its new

thermoforming machine and CNC Cutter

machine at its Central Coast facility.

The new thermoformer now makes wall

panels and roof panels, doors and door

jambs for Formit portable toilets, bringing

all manufacturing in house and replacing

the need to outsource.

Sourced from Chicago in the US, the

thermoformer took two and a half months

to build in Australia. All trimmings from

the CNC Cutter, which trims and cuts all the

thermoformed panels to requirement, are

fully recyclable.

According to Glen Doherty, Managing

Director of Formit Portable Toilets: “The

thermoformer gives us the flexibility to

tailor our run size, specify our orders and

create unique designs.

“Whereas before our suppliers were

letting us down with poor quality materials,

poor supply on time and the requirement

to order large material runs which we then

had to store, now we control our own

manufacturing,” Glen said.

New thermoformer launched

in Australia (north of Sydney), also commit

to recycling the toilet units once they have

reached the end of their functional life.

“We have a system where we recycle

75% of each of the end-of-life product.

Hygienic toilet units will keep us in business

and disposing of waste and cleaning the

units in an environmentally responsible

way is good for everyone,” he said.

“The thermoformer will

increase our productivity. On the

thermoformer we can make two

doors in three minutes. It takes

90seconds for one cycle.”

With the launch of its new

thermoformer, Formit plans to

launch three new products by the

end of 2012; two for the domestic

market one for the export market.
