Wacker Australia has released a new site dumper range in two
dumper models; wheeled and tracked.
The wheeled range starts with a 1 tonne capacity machine; the 1001,
on up through 1.5 tonnes (1501), 3 tonnes (3001) and 6 tonnes (6001).
All the wheeled site dumpers have hydrostatic all-wheel-drive for
the best traction and off-road capability. Articulated frame steering,
combined with high ground clearance in all models, and powerful
engines, means these machines can go anywhere. There are options
available for different load configurations (depending on model),
including front and side tip, swivel tip and high tip.
The tracked dumpers
are available in two
configurations; walk
behind and ride-on. The
baby of the walk-behind
range, the DT05, has
a 500kg capacity. Next
up, there’s the DT08, an
800kg capacity machine,
available with a self
loader; the DT12, the
DT08’s big brother, has
a load capacity of 1.2
tonnes and an integrated
self loading system.
The tracked ride-ons
include the DT15, with 1.5 tonnes capacity, and the 2.5 tonne DT25,
with fully hydraulic drive operated by joystick control, swiveling driver’s
position with logic control of the drive direction.

New range of wheeled
and tracked dumpers
Ultimate Equipment is providing much of the earthmoving
equipment for the final part of the Australian Government’s
commitment to upgrade the entire length of the Hume Highway to a
four-lane divided carriageway project, Holbrook Bypass.
It hires equipment and operators for construction, mining and
quarrying and a large range of heavy applications. Its fleet includes site
dumpers articulated and rigid, excavators, dozers, compactors, trucks
and dogs in different configurations, crushers, screens and elevators.
Mick Shaw, equipment manager for Ultimate Equipment said: “On
the Holbrook site we’re moving one and a half million cubic metres of
material, running 40 tonne articulated dump trucks, as well as 70 tonne
excavators and dozers.
“This is the first site of this type where, due to the fill coming from
one cut and the distance the material has to be transported, the
contractor has moved most of the material with articulated dump
trucks. High capacity articulated dump trucks are one of our largest
capital investments so it made sense to trial one of the new Scania
powered G9 Terex TA 400 trucks due to their competitive initial cost.
“All our machinery is fully deployed for long hours, so minimum
service downtime is critical to maintain our operational margins.
Anything that saves service time is a bonus”, Mick said.
“Vehicle speed is also important to Ultimate Equipment for fast cycle
times. The TA 400 can travel up to 60kms per hour carrying a 23.3 cubic
metres load of 40 tonnes.”
