Controlling Authorities. It attaches to
either portable, permanent or moveable
concrete and steel barriers.
Available for hire companies or to

Absorb 350 Crash Cushion will attach to
temporary concrete or steel barriers.
ArmorZone TL-2 Plastic Barrier is the
world's first 100% polyethylene water
filled barrier (no steel reinforcement)
judged to satisfy the evaluation criteria of
NCHRP 350 Test Level 2 (TL-2),Warwick

The Raptor is what the company claims
is the world's first safety device designed
to reduce the severity of errant vehicle
impacts with utility poles or trees.
“The Raptor is recyclable and is a highly
compact alternative solution to a full
scale crash cushion, especially at sites
where space is limited,”Warwick said.
“It offers exceptional vehicle control
and energy absorbing capabilities in
head-on impacts (where the energy is
absorbed by internal plastic cartridges)
and in side-on, angled impacts where the
Poles & Underground has a fleet of
90 vehicles operating across NSW and
WA and looked at installing mobile GPS
to address a number of issues the firm
faced with their old manual system.
“Initially the main purpose of having GPS
tracking was to see where our vehicles
are at any time and to verify our crew’s
working hours,” Plant & Equipment
Coordinator, Neville Harvey said.
“But we have seen other benefits.
Previously when manually retrieving
and inputing information, it was
difficult for us to confirm our drivers’
whereabouts. Customer service was
Instant tracking delivers savings, improves safety
also affected since it could take a long
time to locate a particular vehicle.
Another problem was, we could only
check a limited amount of vehicles
per day; compliance and safety were
compromised; a lot of management and
HR time were spent trying to check
schedules and contact drivers who may
be out of phone signal reach.”
By using Pinpoint technology, Poles
& Underground were able to reduce
the number of senior managers they
employed, saving the firm approximately
$500k per annum in salary savings.
“The mobile GPS trackers have also
reduced the time taken to locate
vehicles from two hours per week to
instantaneously, a saving of 104 hours,”
Neville said.
Poles & Underground operate in remote
locations so maintaining contact with
workers is critical.
“One of our drivers went missing in his
vehicle in Western Australia where there
was no mobile signal. The GPS was able
to track his location and alert us to send a
rescue team,” Neville said.
