Q: What prompted your entry to the
Hire Industry Excellence Awards?
A:We had recently completed a new
purpose built premises which we
believed was world standard. It allowed
us to showcase our business to the
industry which we are regularly involved
in.
Q: What did the entry involve for
your business?
A: It allowed us to review our business
plan, and complete a total assessment of
our business, which is critically important
to make sure we were on track with
achieving our goals.
Q: How did you find the overall
process?
A: Neil Wallis and Eloise Haydon our
current General Manager met with
the judge. I believe her feedback and

industry was good,
however we didn’t really
get any formal feedback.
Q: Looking back now,
was it worthwhile
entering?
A: Yes, it’s definitely
worth while entering and
we will continue to enter
in the future.
Q: What would
you say to hire
member businesses
considering entering
the HIEA?
A: It is definitely worthwhile entering. It
allows you to assess your business; our
staff enjoyed the process; we had good
exposure for social media; and our staff
enjoyed the awards night even though
we didn’t win.
Q: Any tips for future entrants?
A: Look at every aspect of your business.
Use the whole experience as an
improvement process.
