HIRE AND RENTAL NEWS • MAY 2016

EQUIPMENT SHOWCASE

The ‘Tradee’ trowel range was launched

with two models. A 34” and a 40” model

aimed directly at the Aussie tradesman

needing a cost effective and reliable

machine. Fitted with combination blades

and powered by the HONDA GX200.

The Hoppt Premium trowel machines,

TOL90, TOL100 and TOL120 now have

engine upgrade options. According

to Peter Evans, Managing Director of

Hoppt Australia, this expands the trowel

machine range to 10 walk behind and

three ride-on models. The DVR28, a

2.8 Tonne roller now accompanies the

DVR16 of the same design.

“Three new Honda petrol powered

reversible plate compactors in 150,

200 and 300kg sizes complement the

CPT200D and CPT400D diesel machines

bringing the compaction models to an

impressive 10 machines,” Peter said.

Variable Message Boards, or VMS Boards,

have traditionally been a common feature

in road construction zones, warning

passing traffic of impending change to

road conditions. Businesses and retailers

are now recognising the advertising

potential in hiring these boards to

effectively reach a large market of passing

traffic, very economically.

LDC Equipment has been manufacturing

VMS Boards in Australia for over 10 years.

Today’s VMS Boards use one core board

that integrates all control functions,

communications and charging systems

onto a single board. This revolutionary

design eliminates the complex wiring and

fault diagnosis associated with traditional

VMS boards. All wiring is now point-

to-point from the VMS core to all other

components (star pattern); the result is a

reduction in possible failure points and

massively increased reliability.

Local control is by a user friendly

touchscreen controller on a five metre

lead, so the unit can be used at a safe

Variable message boards more than just for traffic

distance from the roadway. On screen

menus allow easy programming when the

sign is not in a mobile coverage area.

Remote access is provided through LDC

Equipment’s VMS Director Software.

LDC Equipment offers three options:

• Amber: follows the traditional VMS

Board, with a practical one colour

design. Amber Boards are solar

powered;

• 5-Colour: 5-Colour Boards extend the

display aesthetic, giving the user scope

to create eye-catching messages.

5-Colour Boards are solar powered;

• Full colour LED billboard: Full Colour

LED offers premium promotional

opportunities, capable of playing

movie files and images. The LED

Billboard requires power, and uses P10

modules.

All LDC Equipment VMS Boards are

Australian made and come equipped

with: GPS Tracking; Next-G Cellular

connection with SMS and GPRS

updates; a two year warranty; UV stable

polycarbonate screen; brake winch (no

hydraulics to fail) to raise and lower; two

wheel locking chains; recessed tamper

resistant LED tail lights (anti-vandalism);

stainless steel hardware.

As a new addition all LDC Equipment’s

VMS Boards can now be used to alert

traffic to changing road conditions,

remotely. With the addition of a Solar

Surveillance Camera, LDC VMS Boards

can become a traffic warning sign in

real-time. Both camera and VMS Board

can be accessed remotely to view road

conditions and change traffic messages

at any time. The fully integrated, ultra-low

powered digital camera has a 3G modem,

capable of sending high res images

upon motion detection or remote image

capture (via smart phone/tablet).

LDC Equipment is offering HRIA

members an exclusive deal on VMS

Boards until 31 May 2016.
