EARTHMOVING & EXCAVATION
While Kobelco customers operate in
every part of the earthmoving industry, at
the end of the day they all want the same
things from their machines: reliability,
outstanding support and exceptional
efficiency, the company said.
Ian Walsh has been driving diggers
in Queensland for more than 20 years.
Through his business Ian’s Digga Hire,
he uses his Kobelco 135 on all types of
earthmoving, though he specialises in
retaining walls and golf courses.
Ian said his Kobelco 135’s zero swing and
600kg counter balance makes it ideal for
the work he does and offers significant
fuel savings.
“The Kobelco 135 has great safety and
stability. Because the machine isn’t moving
around so much, it’s more accurate and
better to trim with. It’s easy to load trucks
because I can push the arm out further,
and it won’t tip.
“My 135 is great on fuel, and my mate
has a bigger Kobelco that is just as good.
Kobelco fuel economy is out of this world
compared to others.”
Kobelco customers expect reliability, support and
efficiency from their Kobelco excavators
Fuel efficiency in every operation
The service Ian receives from his dealer,
Chesterfield Australia, is excellent.
Charlie Harris founded Melbourne-based
Natural Stone Constructions (NSC), 27
years ago. NSC does large scale projects
including highway overpass rock beaching,
large retaining walls, stone pillars, sea
walls, breakwaters and bulk excavation.
For the past six years Kobelco excavators
have been a big part of the work force.
NSC general manager Trevor Underwood
said the company uses Kobelco because
they are superior to other brands and are
good value for money.
“They are excellent on fuel and the
overall presentation is superior. The cabins
are comfortable, with roll over protection
and good visibility. Melbourne Tractors
does our on-site maintenance and provides
outstanding service,” Trevor said.
Thomas McGirr founded Trylow Plant
Hire in 1989 and has been using Kobelco
gear for the past 10 years. He has 10
Kobelco excavators ranging from 14 to
35 tonnes that he hires out to large roads
companies to supplement their own fleets.
Thomas said he started using Kobelco
because he wanted a digger with a
knuckle boom. He was impressed with its
performance and fuel efficiency, as well as
the service from machinery sales manager
Andrew Matheson at Sydney Trucks.
“If a hirer damages gear or we have a
breakdown, we need the machine to be
back on the road as quickly as possible.”
