“Initially, the extensive
works were creating a lot
of noise and disrupting
day-to-day operations in
the centre; for one shop
in particular whose wall
backed up to our work site;
however, after installing
the echo barriers, we didn’t
receive a complaint from
them. That combined with
the identification and use
of some different work
processes paid dividends.”
The benefits of using a

two-fold, Simon said: they
offer a versatile and simple
solution to protecting the
surrounding community
from noise disruption; and
add another dimension to demonstrating corporate responsibility.
“I have been able to get quite a bit of use out of them because

The new METRO 4000 Lighting Tower from
JLG was developed in direct response to
customer demand.

designed and manufactured lighting unit,
with minimal sound impact that would
provide adequate lighting and importantly
still be cost effective.
“The METRO 4000 has ISO 9001
accreditation, hydraulic mast up to 9m, 4 x
1000W metal halide lights and weighs just
1100kg, enabling easy one-person set-up.
“An exceptionally low noise output makes
it ideal for night works, civil work, car parks
and event hire,” Bob said.
Additional features include: Kubota D1105
diesel engines that run at a quiet 60dB(A);
the 4 x 1000W metal halide adjustable pan
and tilt lamps provide flexible lighting; long
extension wind down outriggers that stow
away for transport; forklift pockets for ease
of transport and site positioning; comes
with a bunded chassis with drainage taps;
and tilt head lights can be directed in one
direction or to provide 360° lighting. The
tower’s short overall length allows side by
side loading.
