TWS Hire has added six new Fuso 5,000
Litre capacity watercarts to its fleet.
“This latest fleet expansion reflects our
business growth by responding to the
needs of construction companies and
major contractors, Bill Bastian, TWS Hire’s
General Manager said.
“Rather than continually upgrade older
trucks, it makes more sense to supply new
equipment which will more than satisfy
the needs of our customers. We’re offering
the latest generation equipment that is
totally site compliant.
“The new trucks feature a 5,000 litre
‘fat’ tank which provides a lower profile
at cab level for easier tank filling and
greater stability. As well as automatic
transmission, these all-new trucks have
suspension adjustable operator seats,
reversing cameras, reverse squawker,
battery isolation switch, hard wired
UHF radio, CD radio, air conditioning,
fire extinguishers, service records and
insurances available via email and more.
“Our business has a strong safety focus,

“Increasingly, suppliers
like ourselves are required
to submit equipment
for pre-hire inspections
where we have to
produce mechanical and
operability certificates
issued by a registered
mechanic. Under these
circumstances it makes
sense to ensure all our
vehicles have been
maintained diligently in
top condition,” he said.
Current service documentation is provided
and all safety gear is maintained within
inspection time limits and tagged and
tested where applicable.
A generous sized accessory compartment
between the cab and the water tank
makes light and fast work of accessing
hoses, standpipes and other accessories.
Another simple yet useful innovation is a
highly visible water level gauge mounted
at the front of the tank.
“These new trucks have been set up so
they can be operated by anyone who
has no idea how a water truck works.
This means anyone with a car licence
on a construction site can operate the
equipment with minimal introduction
and virtually no training, “Bill said.
