Hire and Rental News - August 2014 - page 36

Dieci Australia has updated two
of its most popular telehandler
ranges.
The first is Dieci’s Apollo
telehandler range, a compact,
versatile and tough family
of machines designed for
the harshest of Australian
conditions.
The latest in the Apollo series
lineup features a sealed radiator
compartment for less dust
and clogging, a tough damage
resistant composite door,
lowered boom for improved
visibility, forward and reverse
controls on the joystick and
safety, split bonnet for improved
service and maintenance
access.
The second range is the Pegasus rotational telehandler family
designed for those requiring full slewing ability. Compact models now
featuring touch sensitive joysticks and fully proportional stabilisers
with automatic self-levelling make these machines easy to use and
extremely versatile.
With engine power starting from 74kW, up to 106kW, lifting capacities
that go from 3800kg to 6000kg and hydrostatic transmission, Dieci’s
Pegasus telehanders are purpose-built for any challenge.
Both the Dieci Apollo and Pegasus family of telehandlers can be
custom fitted with attachments such as forks and carriages, buckets,
hooks and jibs, winches, rotators, baskets and pipe and clamp grabs.
For applications that require specialised and unique attachments,
Dieci is able to engineer and manufacture any attachment the
customer requires.

Correction - May 2014 issue
In the May issue of Hire and Rental News, an image of Snorkel's
Xtreme telehandler inadvertantly ran with the story on Manitou's
new super sized telehandlers on p42.
Hire and Rental News unreservedly apologises to Manitou and
Snorkel for this mix up and for any embarrassment or confusion
caused.
EWPA Registered Inspector Program
The EWPA Registered Inspector Program is progressing with
Nigel Poore working on a final draft to be circulated shortly by the
National Office. It is proposed to start the program with Telehandler
inspectors as the industry is smaller and then work towards the
Elevating Work Platforms. It is hoped the Telehandler program
will be up and running by the first quarter 2015. Inspectors will be
registered by the inspection type ie: three month, annual etc. Each
inspector must belong to a member company of either EWPA or
TSHA not just as an individual. Each inspector must have a logbook
to record their experience and the equipment categories they are
able to inspect. There will be an Audit program created to protect
the program and a Code of Ethics created as well as a Registered
Inspectors Card to be made up for each inspector.
