ACCESS in ACTION

Based in Las Vegas, Nevada, Xtreme

Manufacturing produces a large range

of heavy-duty, rough terrain telescopic

forklifts, with products capable of lifting

up to 31,750kg (70,000lbs).

Designed to withstand tough jobsite

conditions, Xtreme telehandlers are

constructed from steel and utilise high

quality components to ensure reliability

and durability.

According to Glenn Martin, Managing

Director of Ahern Australia, innovative

features, such as long life boom rollers

deliver a smoother boom extension

and retraction than industry-standard

wear pads, as well as being virtually

maintenance-free.

"The chassis and boom are designed

to ensure 360° operator visibility from

the cab, as standard, helping to improve

jobsite safety," Glenn said.

“In addition, an integrated boom lift point

is fitted as standard to the horsehead of

every Xtreme telehandler, providing a

safer and more convenient method for

handling suspended loads."

In the cab, innovative boom controls

permit the operator to keep one hand on

the steering wheel at all times. All Xtreme

telehandlers are backed by a 10 year –

five year – two year warranty.

The Xtreme XR1045 and XR1255 models

are now available to order for the first

time in the region, fromAhern Australia.

Both models meet Australian standards

and further models from the 16-strong

range will be introduced in 2016.

“The Xtreme XR1045 is designed to

be the ideal balance of reach, height,

capacity, and manoeuverability. It is

designed particularly for manoeuvering

in tight spaces, parking garages and

crowded jobsites.

XR1045 Key Specifications include:

• lift capacity: 4,535kg (10,000lbs);

• lift height: 13.7m (45ft);

• forward reach: 9.2m (30ft 4in); and

• engine: 111hp Tier III Flex.

“The Xtreme XR1045 is also useful as

a support machine for jobsites with

larger forklifts or telehandlers. As with

all Xtreme telehandlers, the XR1045

comes equipped as standard with a

comfortable suspension seat, easy access

to components for servicing, and large

capacity steel hydraulic and fuel tanks."

The Xtreme XR1255 shares many of the

features of the XR1045 but has additional

capabilities including: lift capacity:

5,443kg (12,000lbs); lift height: 16.7m

(55ft); forward reach: 11.6m (38ft); and

engine: 122 hp Tier IVi.

Both the XR1045 and the XR1255 can

be customised. Options include open or

enclosed cabs with temperature controls,

plus various carriages, fork tine and

tire sizes. Additionally, there are many

attachments available which increase the

flexibility of the lift, including a pipe and

pole grapple attachment and a personnel

platform that can be easily attached to

both telehandlers.

Ahern Australia was formerly known

as Snorkel Australia. Snorkel was

founded in 1959 in the United States of

America, as a fire equipment company,
