ACCESS IN ACTION
The Genie lightweight, mobile material
lifts and AWP access equipment have
a wide range of uses but are most
commonly used in the air-conditioning
and building industries for the lifting
of materials and indoor access for
maintenance.
According to David Greene, Terex AWP
Regional Sales Manager, Victoria &
Tasmania, SMS Access Sales is an ideal
choice for Victoria, South Australia and
Tasmania because it is helmed by the
highly experienced Scott Spackman, Sales
Manager.
“Scott has a very long history in the
access game. He knows the access
industry inside out and back to front,”
David said.
Both SMS Access Sales and SSA are
exclusively retail operations. For
customers who are in the access hire
business, this is one of the big positives
New Genie distributors for material lifting equipment
of the new distribution arrangement, in
David’s view.
“To buy off somebody who is not a
competitor to them is a real bonus for our
customers,” David said.
Scott Spackman of SMS Access Sales also
sees benefits for customers: he hopes the
new relationship with Genie will enable
him to boost his stock levels so he can
provide better service to customers, and
offer more competitive pricing.
The new Queensland distributor, SSA,
is “a very professional capital sales
company” in the words of Kurt Kinder,
Terex AWP Regional Sales Manager,
Queensland/PNG.
“They’re a strong Genie-based
distributor. They know the product like
the back of their hand.”
To Kurt, some of the advantages for
customers in dealing with SSA are: “these
guys will have product on hand and
they offer ease of business to customers
because of their streamlined ordering and
payment processes.”
SSA has a dedicated team member, Sean
Gallagher, who is responsible for selling
the Genie material lifts and AWP product
lines.
For Peter Baxter, Manager SSA, one
of the drawcards of strengthening
his company’s ties with Genie is the
company’s superior customer service.
“Genie makes its business more
accessible than any other manufacturer
I’ve ever dealt with. Nothing’s a problem
for Genie, and if it is, they sort it, and
they do it far quicker than any OEM
manufacturer we’ve ever dealt with,”
Peter said.
“They just go that extra mile.”
