HIRE AND RENTAL NEWS • AUGUST 2016
The E17 fits into a conventional trailer,
is light weight plus its automatic swing
brake and four upper-structure tie-down
points make transportation easy and safe.
The Zero House Swing (ZHS) concept
enhances Zero Tail Swing (ZTS)
functionality by further protecting the
front upper structure corners turning
within the swing circle. ZHS functionality
provides 320° of free rotation while
working close to any object. The
retractable undercarriage (standard
equipment for CPUI models) enables
operators to enter buildings through the
doors. Side shifted work group provides
excellent working visibility and it also
features easy to operate durable blade
extensions which is left hand side-
mounted offset cylinder to minimise the
chance of damaging surrounding objects.
Bobcat’s E17 and E20 hydraulic systems
make the best use of the engine power.
Fast cycle times, combined with smooth
control of class-leading breakout
The all new Bobcat E17 compact excavator
Clark Equipment is introducing the Bobcat E17 Compact excavator which has a 1.7 tonne
operating weight, digging depth of 2249mm, overall width of 1360mm, retractable to
980mm and has been designed for easy transportability.
forces, provide maximum
productivity. Boom and dipper
stick cylinder cushioning
enhance overall smoothness.
The machines are built around
the operator – providing
optimal ergonomics for
operators. The new cab design
features large windows and
narrow pillars to maximise
visibility. The cab has joystick
control of boom swing and
auxiliary hydraulics with three
selectable auxiliary modes
to match attachments. All
parameters can be checked in
one view.
The superior dumping height
makes loading trucks easy,
while the reach at ground
level means you don’t need
to reposition as often when
digging. Daily maintenance and service
points are conveniently located.
Equipped with a four-wheel steering
system and uniform size front/rear tyres,
the TLB990 all wheel steer in crab-steer
mode is able to operate within a turning
circle of just 7.3m. The operator can select
between four, two and crab steering.
This versatility makes the machine ideal
for manoeuvring on tight sites or where
control and precision is needed.
Terex has also redesigned the rear axle
on both models to incorporate a heavy
duty hydraulic power braking system
that holds the machine in position on
steep grades. This system acts on all four
wheels in ‘roading’ mode for safer and
more controllable braking.
A redesigned curved boom delivers reach
of 5877mm and dig depth of 4442mm,
while a new inner slide extending
dipperstick delivers fast working cycles
for rapid bucket filling. The ‘banana’ boom
design also helps lower the overall height
when roading.
New Terex backhoe loaders: tough and versatile
The latest backhoe loaders from Terex, the TLB990 and TLB890 are versatile, powerful
machines driven by a 100hp (74.5kW) liquid cooled engine.
The side-shift and boom swing tower are
built from high quality cast steel, with
two double-acting slewing rams with
a cushioned end-stroke that provides
powerful and smooth slew capability,
even on uphill grades.
Neat hose plumbing of hoses eliminates
the risk of binding
and durable cast
steel components
are engineered for
long life and minimal
maintenance.
Optional front fold-
over forks may be
supplied as a factory
installation, while
the 1.2m3 capacity
factory 4-in-1 bucket
has the mounting
bosses all built-in
ready to install the
forks. The provision
of standard anti drop valves front and rear
mean forklift jobs or suspended loads are
handled in safety. The backhoe parking
lock is switch-activated and locks both
the boom park and the swing functions.
