background, marquee supplier, WOW
Structures’ National Business Development
Manager, Adam La Rosa, recognised a
need to ensure events organisers see
marquees as more than just protection
from the weather.
“I know from first-hand experience
speaking with clients, when you mention
the word marquee, no one seems to get
excited,” Adam said.
“Marquees are almost seen as a necessity
only for weather rather than something
that can also create an atmosphere.”
Launched in Australia in January 2013,
Wow Structures is a family owned business,
specialising in marquee sales and hire.
“We noticed a sizeable gap in the
market,” Adam said. “People don’t
traditionally get excited by marquees,
hence the heavy focus on styling and
theming them. But our structures are
quickly shaking up the event industry.

Designed in Holland by an Aeronautical
Engineer and manufactured to full TÜV
strength and safety certification standards
in Germany, they are 100% European,
Adam said.
“Wow Structures are stronger because
they use solid 90mm diameter extruded
aluminium tubing for the frame,
galvanized steel couplings and load
bearing joints as well as marine grade
stainless steel tension cables,” Adam said.
“All-in-all, a very sleek looking, solid
and practical range of structures, certified
to withstand wind speeds of 100km/h or
24m/s. Modular in design, they even pack
down to a very small stillage of 120x80x80,
which makes them perfect for storage and
transportation. They are also simple to
assemble and dismantle.”
Wow Structures is run by two people;
Paul Guyett (CEO) and Adam, who wears
about 10 hats.
“In less than 12 months we have already
managed to build a national supply
network of dealers around Australia who
have our structures available for hire.”
Wow Structures offers a range of
structures in various sizes and options, and
also offers high resolution digital printing
for corporate use or brand activation.
“Structures can take a minimum of
400kg of rigging/weight attached directly
to it, meaning floor space is maximised and
OH&S problems are virtually eliminated.
Structures can also be daisy-chained
together to create vast undercover areas.
“Our structures were used by VW for
the 2013 WRC (World Rally Championship)
season, televised globally and are also used
by some of the largest companies in the
world.
“Wow Structures is the licensed exclusive
distributor in Australia and we are looking
to further expand our dealer network.”
