Key features of the 3CX Compact include:
1.9m wide and 2.74m high, for small
spaces; 40 km/h hydrostatic transmission,
17% faster travel speed than the previous
model; servo excavator levers and smooth
hydraulics deliver 19% more flow; and
4WS provides a 5.8m turning circle.
Glenn McLeod, JCB Construction
Equipment Australia (CEA) National
Product Manager for backhoe loaders,
said: “Its small footprint and all-round
visibility is perfect for confined areas.
“The 3CX Compact combines the
digging power and ease of use of a
mini excavator, with the capabilities
of a compact wheeled loading shovel.
Backhoe loader, mini excavator and skid
steer loader attachment compatibility
allows the 3CX Compact to work with the
widest range of attachments,” Glenn said.
“A 19% increase in hydraulic flow, at 100
litres/min, in combination with standard
excavator servo levers, gives the 3CX
Compact outstanding controllability
for operators familiar with both mini
excavators and backhoe loaders.
Big machine performance from compact backhoe loader
JCB’s 3CX compact backhoe loader has arrived in Australia, delivering big machine
performance for confined job sites.
“Up to 75 litres/min of bi-directional
auxiliary flow allows a wide range
of hydraulic attachments to be used,
including augers. It also features a four-
in-one bucket, pallet forks and specialist
attachments, such as sweeper collectors."
A load over height of 2.98m and max
forward reach at full height of 1.11m
allows easy loading of road going trucks
and other high-sided haulage solutions.
The machine can also be ordered
with a hydraulic quick hitch, for faster
attachment changeover.
The 3CX Compact is powered by a low
emission Tier 4 Final/Stage IIIB JCB
Diesel by Kohler engine, delivering 74Hp
(55kW). The engine drives through a
three-speed hydrostatic transmission to
all four wheels, for maximum traction in
difficult site conditions. The hydrostatic
transmission offers a 40km/h top speed
for travel between sites.
“Parallel lift loader arms ensure maximum
load retention and JCB’s smooth ride
loader suspension system (SRS) is
standard,” Glenn said.
Excavator-style controls are standard
in the 3CX Compact, reducing operator
effort and increasing controllability.
The 3CX Compact is supplied with
JCB’s LiveLink telematic tracking
and monitoring system. LiveLink also
allows real-time tracking to permit rapid
relocation in the event of a machine theft.

Delivering up to 45% greater operating
capacity over the TL12 radial lift model,
the loader and its systems is powered
by a Kubota 3.8 litre diesel engine that
produces 81.8kW compliant with US EPA
Final Tier 4 /EU Stage IV emissions.
The main advantage of the vertical lift
system on this machine is its lifting
capacity. A ‘quiet track design’ reduces
noise and vibration using a tread pattern
that also produces greater flotation. A
new contact pad between the roller and
track enhances ride quality and reduces
vibration, while increased track length
provides longer ground contact that
improves stability and ride quality.
It features integrated cross members
and a welded frame configured for easier
cleaning. Both rear and lower rollers
are dual flange type and a redesigned
track pattern maintains traction, while
providing less surface impact. It also has
a ROPS and FOPS level 2 roof guard.
Vertical lift compact loader revels in heavy lifting
Weighing under six tonnes, Takeuchi’s TL12V-2 Vertical Lift Compact Loader has been
released in Australia and claims to be the largest and most powerful machine in its class.
The TL12V-2 cabin is considerably
quieter, while the width has been
increased by 77mm.
Eight air-conditioning vents more evenly
spread cabin temperature and the high
back suspension seat and precision
pilot controls make all day operation
comfortable. A multi-information display
incorporates a new 5.7inch colour display
connected to a rear camera.
Takeuchi designers have lowered the
boom arm cross member to ensure clear
visibility is maintained.
An electrical harness runs the loader’s
frame and plugs into the hand control
which permits operation of attachments
that require electrical functions such
as a tilting dozer blade, laser blade or a
profiler. Another standard feature is high
flow hydraulics.
An hydraulic quick hitch is standard
and allows changing buckets and
attachments from the cabin. A Ride
Control feature is standard and delivers
a smooth ride and assists in retaining
material in the bucket while the machine
is traversing uneven ground.
