HIRE AND RENTAL NEWS • NOVEMBER 2016

The LED lights can be easily

retrofitted to any warehouse

machine to create a 360

line

of bright red light around

the machine which acts as a

pedestrian warning system.

The customisable adjustable

red ‘Safety Halo Zone’ clearly

defines the danger zone

between the forklift or other

warehouse machine and a

pedestrian.

The bright red ‘Safety Halo’

enables pedestrians in the warehouse

to easily see the operating zone around

a moving warehouse vehicle, to show

pedestrians where they are not allowed.

Companies can set individual and specific

‘No Go Zone’ or ‘Safety Halo Zone'

distance, typically between one and two

metres from the forklift.

The ‘Safety Halo’ can be used on any type

of forklift including sit downs, stand ups,

tuggers, or man up forklifts, like order

pickers and turret trucks, among other

machines.

The ‘Safety Halo’ can be used on any fuel

type machine including, but not limited to

Ultimate LED has developed a new ‘Safety Halo’ system of red light to create a defined

propane, gas, diesel, natural gas, electric.

The LED lights have a low power draw

and in most cases, do not require extra

wiring. They are easy to install which can

be done by a forklift company or any auto

electrician.

While the ‘Safety Halo’ system is

weatherproof and can be taken outside,

the lights are most effective in a

warehouse or indoor environment.

The ‘Safety Halo’ system will be most

effective outside during dusk, dawn or at

night.

Ultimate LED’s red ‘Safety Halo’ will help

prevent foot injuries and collisions from

rear end swing on mobile warehouse

machinery, as well as improve overall

warehouse pedestrian safety.

Yale Pacific, General Manager, Ian Neilson

said Curve Assist automatically reduces

truck speed based on the load and steer

angle it detects.

“A standard synchronous steering

function ensures the steering wheel

always returns to the same ideal position

for forward driving after a turn. The

new forklift trucks feature regenerative

braking, which harnesses energy during

braking cycles and channels it to the

battery. This coupled with the high

quality battery provides operating life of

up to 8.5 hours in standard performance

mode and 9.5 hours in economy mode,”

Ian said.

“The FB Series benefits from a mast

design that provides a generous

clearance between the hoist chains for

greater visibility.

“The drop battery box layout makes

servicing and maintaining the new

Yale forklift more efficient by providing

improved accessibility. A horizontal

battery extraction option is also available

if required.

“A refined operator compartment delivers

Yale has released the FB15-35RZ Series electric counterbalanced forklift truck, featuring a

cornering speed control system dubbed ‘Curve Assist’ and a raised steer axle, to provide a

stable driving environment.

excellent driver comfort and provides

easy ingress and egress from the

forklift. An easy-to-use interactive dash

display clearly shows the most relevant

information on the forklift’s operating

status.

“The FB Series includes a travel and

hydraulic Interlock system that disables

the truck’s functions if the seatbelt is

removed by the driver or if he or she

leaves the seat.

"Other safety benefits include an optional

Blue Pedestrian Awareness Light (PAL)

that alerts pedestrians and users of other

equipment that a forklift is operating in

their area,” Ian said.

The new Yale FB Series electric forklift

range comprises seven models, with

capacities ranging from 1500kg to 3500kg

and with a variety of lift heights and fork

spreads. There are also three wheelbase

options and a range of turning radiuses.

Options are available to customise the

operator compartment, tyre set-up,

transmission and hydraulic control,

lights and warning equipment, front

end configuration as well as truck

construction (freezer or corrosion).

An optional IPX4 rating which protects

the truck and electrical components from

water ingress and consequential damage

also makes the new FB range suitable for

both indoor and outdoor use.
