Fair Dinkum toilet
During the past three years an innovative
operating system for portable toilets has
been designed and tested in Australia. This
toilet has no reliance on chemicals and
operates with push button flushing and
full toilet bowl water sealing as in toilet
systems connected to sewer or septic.
It provides user isolation from the waste
tank, which is vented via Activated Carbon
Filtering, converting sewer gases to clean
air. And is chemical and odour free.
Designed and manufactured in Australia,
the Dinkum Dunnies' ‘Fair Dinkum
portable toilet has unique, variable flush
capability and total water sealing between
the toilet bowl and waste holding tank.
Dinkum Industries' Geoff Sach said the
features of this toilet provide flushing
capabilities with approximately 250 litres
and waste holding in excess of 500 litres.
With the Waste Tank Level Indicator
providing constant monitoring of the
waste tank level, service scheduling can be
arranged prior to the toilet becoming full
and unusable.
The Cubicle, Rotationally Molded in one
piece has a similar footprint to existing
portable toilets (1.2m x 1.2m) and two
units will fit across a standard truck tray
for transportation.
This toilet has been designed for the
User and the Service Personnel first
and foremost, Geoff said, with more
comfortable user space internally and
operating features that make toilet use a
more dignified experience.
With the light source from the sides not
the top, and the flush water reservoir
encompassing three sides, the temperature
inside the cubicle is cooler in warm
weather, the toilet remains equally
balanced, and has a
wide access door. There
is also the capability to
connect to an external
flush water supply if
desired via the cistern
inlet valve. Potable or
recycled water can be
used for flushing.
There is no requirement
to physically access the
waste tank for waste
removal, but simply
connect to the waste
removal point with a vacuum line and it
will empty itself while the cubicle internals
are cleaned and sanitised.
