A Greenmech Eco

Arborist purchased seven

years from the Aspac

Group is working as well

some 3500hours later, as it

did when purchased.

Geoff “The Treeman”

Birse and his crew of three

work in Melbourne’s

South Eastern suburbs and

take on most jobs, from

small pruning and

trimming jobs to large

tree felling and removal.

“One of the great

features of the Greenmech

is it is compact, meaning

we can push it in to backyards with ease

which reduces time spent dragging limbs to

the street and avoiding health and safety

issues,” Geoff said.

Another unexpected bonus for Geoff is

the quality of the chip. Being small and

consistent means he can get double the

money for a truck load of mulch.

“I have no back up chipper,” Geoff said.

“So reliability has been crucial for us, and in

The Treeman and his chipper

over seven years we average about one day

a year where the chipper has been out of

action for minor repair.”

Geoff was sceptical when he purchased

the Greenmech about claims of reduction

in blade wear but after seven years has only

purchased five sets of blades.

“That equates to $210.00 a year for blade

replacement. To put it another way. The

real secret to long blade life is to rotate

the blades regularly and keep them sharp,

which also greatly reduces fuel consumption

and wear and tear on the chipper.
