| AUGUST 2012
With close to 1100 visitors, delegates and
exhibitors through the doors of the 2012
HRIA National Convention, ‘Navigating
the Future’ provided inspiration and
information to steer businesses in the right
direction.
Featuring 273 exhibition booths and 103
exhibitors, including 19 events exhibitors,
the two-day exhibition staged one of the
largest dedicated Australian hire industry
trade fairs yet with 12 new companies
exhibiting for the first time.
International guests included delegates:
Ted Cook, Chairman, American Rental
Association; and Terry Douris from the UK,
representing the Hire Association Europe.
New products had strong representation
again this year proving the HRIA
Convention is a great launching pad for
new additions to the industry. An extensive
range of access equipment, excavation and
loading machinery along with compaction,
cutting, drilling tools, mulchers, chippers,
high pressure cleaners and accessories was
on active display at the annual Equipment
in Action Day which also incorporated the
Structure and Marquee Expo.

Hire software on the cloud increases efficiency
Orion Software’s cloud-based hire software solutions
allow hire managers to focus on their core business
operations instead of managing IT.
Via the internet, users can access Orion’s award
winning Hire Software, Sirius Pro, from anywhere in
the world - from any computer, iPad, or mobile device.
Invoicing, verifying equipment availability, producing
delivery slips, tracking repairs on equipment and many
other functions can be done anytime, from anywhere.
The cloud model allows for a low initial investment and
eliminates costly IT expenses such as server set-up,
back-up, technician fees and assuring data security.
Managing director of Orion in Australia, Shaun Loubser,
said: “Going with cloud technology is not only a good
economic decision, it’s also a way for hire companies
to stay ahead of the competition by having relevant
data at their fingertips and providing a quicker, more
reliable service to their customers.”
Orion Software provides flexible solutions to equipment,
scaffolding, event, speciality equipment and audio
visual hire companies. Its Hire Management Software
Solutions provide rapid return on investment at a low
total cost of acquisition.
