With a new branch in Townsville and

Kobelco dealership, CA Construction

Equipment (a division of Chesterfield

the sale of excavators.

Chris Batson, General Manager for CA

Construction, said the demand for Kobelco

excavators is driven by the infrastructure

growth to support the mining boom and

the Coal Seam Gas Projects in Queensland.

“We are looking to open the doors on

a new purpose built facility near Brisbane

within the next 12 months. The facility will

include a 10 bay workshop, more office

space and a larger showroom, and will see

us employing five more service and sales

staff,” Chris said.

“The Kobelco SK135SR range has always

been popular; we’ve sold 21% of all 11.6t

to 16tonne excavators in Queensland in the

past four months. That means there are a

lot of Kobelco customers that need strong

support and service which we’ll provide by

upgrading and expanding,” Chris said.

“One of the greatest attributes of our

construction excavator line-up is the low

fuel consumption. The SK480LC-8 is chosen

due to its power, capacity, and low fuel

burn, making it ideal for use on larger

projects where peak performance is critical,

without having to pay through the nose for

the fuel,” Chris said.

The SK30SR-5 and SK35SR-5 are popular

in subdivision and plumbing applications.
