message
Jeff Bernard, National President
"....We thank our
State Committees
and State Presidents
for their continued
contribution, hard work
and dedication to the
Association and all the
things they do behind
the scenes...."
We’ve had some great, productive HRIA
State Meetings throughout August and
October and we’re ready for another round
of general meetings, holiday celebrations,
State AGM’s and our national AGM through
the month of November and heading into
December before we all break for Christmas.
The HRIA office, national executive, Hire and
Rental magazine crew, PPSA Commission
and colleagues are continuing to work on
important issues for members including:
•
Global Rental Alliance Leadership
Program
– we are pleased to announce
our 2015 candidate Ben Sinclair from
Aim Hire who will be travelling to Iowa
and staying with the American Rental
Association incoming President. We
thank all of the applicants for submitting
their applications and encourage you to
try again next year.
•
Personal Property Securities Act
–
The Commission (Gary Kerr, Tim Nuttall
and James Oxenham) travelled to
Canberra in late August and met with the
Attorney General. There have been some
significant changes to the PPSA in recent
months as a direct result of our industry's
Event is Wednesday, 4 May, and the
Convention is 5 – 6 May, 2016.
As successful as our HRIA meetings,
events and functions have been
throughout the year, we can only
continue the success with the ongoing
support of all Rental Company Members
and Supplier/Manufacturer Members.
We thank our State Committees and
State Presidents for their contribution,
hard work and dedication for the
Association and all the things they do
behind the scenes.
In the past few months and at upcoming
State AGM’s we have a few of our
National Executive Committee Members
stepping down. On behalf of the HRIA,
I would like to send out a big thank you
for all of your input and dedication to the
Association and wish you all the best in
your future plans and commitments.
Those people who have recently or are
about to step down, include QLD State
President Jeremy Shaw; NSW State
President Ashley Lancaster; National
Vice President Allen Besseling; and our
Northern Territory President Steven
Bailey. It’s been a privilege to have
met every one of you along our journey
at the HRIA and we look forward to
continuing our friendships and keeping
in touch in the years ahead. Thank you
for your contributions to the tradition
of excellence of the HRIA and we look
forward to meeting and welcoming your
successors.
I wish everyone a very Happy Holiday
Season and a spectacular New Year. We
look forward to catching up with you
soon.
Jeff Bernard
National President
