Honda held its
inaugural press day
in April at Aitken Hill
in Melbourne with
representatives and
products from 18 local
Powered by Honda
manufacturers.
The day was designed
to showcase these Honda
partners to the national
industry press.
The manufacturers set
up products for display
around the Aitken Hill grounds.
The day began with an overview of Honda’s global situation and
the importance of the OEM division to Honda Australia; a review of
Honda’s “Green & Gold Approved” program, and the “Beware Serial
Offenders” campaign; a presentation detailing the specifics of the
Engine Matching Test every Green and Gold approved product must
pass before getting the thumbs up from Honda.
Then the press broke into groups to see the Powered by Honda
products in use for themselves.

A Lennox Head builder has won the Coates Hire Chariots of Hire
promotion, taking home the major prize of a Toyota HiLux SR5.
Earlier this year, Pim Kay, builder of Kayon Homes, visited his local
Coates Hire branch on several occasions to hire equipment for his
construction company, entering the promotion each time. On one
visit Pim hired a plate compactor and it was this visit that resulted in
his name being drawn from over 17,000 entries.
On receiving the keys to the white Dual cab Toyota HiLux SR5
worth over $48,000 Pim said, “This is amazing. It’s a wonderful
feeling and winning the HiLux still feels totally out of the blue.
I don’t win many prizes so this is fantastic and very unexpected.”
Presenting Pim with the HiLux, Coates Hire Chief Executive Officer
Leigh Ainsworth said, “We are delighted to present Pim with this
fantastic prize and
trust he enjoys every
moment behind the
wheel.”
