ACCC TERMS AND
CONDITIONS
Unfair contract terms used in standard
contracts have been removed or
changed following a review by the
ACCC. According to the HRIA some of
the areas looked at cover vehicle rental,
charge back rights on credit cards and
more. The association works hard to
ensure the HRIA Standard Contract is
regularly updated to ensure compliance.
In this case it’s about compliance to
Consumer Law. If your contract is
deemed unfair it can be declared void.

WHIRLWIND MOVES LOO
TO PARKING LOT
A whirlwind that picked up a portable
ablution block and transported it about
50
metres to a vacant parking area in
WA has prompted WorkCover to issue
a reminder to ensure the safe design of
temporary or permanent structures at
mining operations. The HRIA reminds
members to ensure all portable
buildings are secure.
