Industry interest in New Holland
Construction’s 200 Series skid
steers is overwhelming; with one
dealer selling two new models six
months before they even arrived
in the country.
With seven models in the
series, engine power ranges from
67kW (90Hp) on the L230 to
31.8kW (46Hp) on the compact
L213. Canberra-based business
Brindabella Contractors ordered
the 61kW (82Hp) L225 model
for use on civil and landscaping
projects six months ago.
“With its patented Super Boom
vertical lift, which means the skid
steer can load material to the
centre of the trucks, we will be
able to move more material per
hour,” Brindabella Contractors, Managing
Director, Phil Nixon said.
“The pressurised cab is a real highlight
because it prevents dust and dirt entering
the cab via the air conditioning. This is
crucial as we run a GPS fleet management
system which requires extra electrical

customers to take stock of the new 200 Series skid steers

The system tracks each machine and logs
information on hours of use, equipment
location and even engine revs onto a
central computer. The data, which is used to
manage machinery maintenance schedules
and track performance measures, is critical
for our overall business efficiency.”
Adam Tolhurst, Managing Director
of NSW property developer Berela
Developments purchased an L218 model
which is currently being used on an over
55s residential development at Richmond.
“We generally use sub-contractors for
on-site works, but we needed a machine
for general site clean-up,” Adam said.
“We’ve been working on the site for
the past two years and with the project
expected to continue for the next three
years, we needed a machine which
could handle a range of daily tasks. With
its low emission 45kW (60Hp) engine
and an operating weight of 2,690kg
(5,930pounds), the L218 is perfect for
moving pallets, bricks, sand and other
materials as needed.”
All seven models have a large fuel tank
which delivers 12 hours work before
refuelling is necessary. Service intervals on
the L230, L225, L220 and L218 set at 500
hours for engine oil and filter and 1,000
hours for drain and flush. Servicing on
the two compact models in the range, the
L215 and L213, is set at 250 hours. Visit:
