Australian Crane & Machinery (ACM) has
sold 16 new Travel Towers to Boom Sherrin
ranging from 25m to 42m working height.
ACM is proud of the ACM250 and
ACM300 developed and assembled in
Melbourne.
Via its Boom Sherrin division, Boom
Logistics, a national industrial services
group, operates approximately 1,500 plus
items of access equipment and in excess of
300
travel towers.
According to ACM’s Toni Cavalieri, Boom
Sherrin was looking for quality, reliability
and equipment with a proven track record
which needed to be able to handle the
rigors of the harsh Australian environment.
ACM developed a Remote Access
Response System (RARS) to give customers
immediate response to emergency issues
eliminating the need for them to wait for
a specialist mechanic to arrive onsite. RARS
enables all ACM engineers to remotely
access the machine’s computer in real-
time anywhere in Australia within the 4G
Network coverage (from head office in
Melbourne).

“
The engineer can conduct a full fault
check on the machine and check the recent
movements in case of a safety breach or
unsafe work practices by the operator,”
Toni said.
“
A wireless camera is also fitted in the
cabin so the technician can also see for
themselves what is happening. Importantly
this means a majority of service problems
can be addressed immediately and directly
from ACM’s technicians in Victoria without
relying on ACM’s service network in other
states. Savings in machine down time and
reduced labour costs make this system a
‘
must have’ to customers and is therefore
fitted standard with all ACM branded
machines,” Toni said.
“
All ACM branded machines meet EN280
and AS1418.10 requirements and are fitted
with dual safety switches as backup in
case one fails. Additionally a state of the
art homing system enables the basket to
return to a safe position. The motto of the
systems is ‘Everyone Comes Home Safely’,”
Toni said.
