NATIONAL AGM
The National AGM was held in South
Australia on 13 October, 2012. Thanks
to Wacker Neuson and Vermeer for
sponsoring the event and to Mark
Burton, SA President for organising
the event with featured guest speaker,
Maggie Beer. Mark Scarce of Camden
Hire was elected for another year as
President. Thanks go to Mark for all his
efforts and support of the organisation
during a very busy year. The Vice
President is now Allen Besseling of
Kennards Hire, and the new Events
President is Tom O’Dowd of No Fuss
Solutions. Geoff Tucker stood down
as Events President and was warmly
thanked by Mark Scarce for doing a
great job of putting Events on the HRIA
map and for his enthusiastic support
and work for the Association in his five
year reign. AGM minutes are available
online. The SA AGM was also held and
Mark Burton of Barossa Valley Hire was
re-elected as President. Congratulations
go to all the office bearers and the
Executives and the association looks
forward to another successful year.
Kennards Hire, has expanded
into New Zealand by acquiring
the business of McEntee Hire.
The move gives Kennards a
network of nine equipment
centres in Auckland, its first
branches outside Australia.
Kennards will invest heavily
in expanding the range and
depth of equipment available
to contractors. tradesmen,
businesses and home improvers.
McEntee Hire founder Bill
McEntee said he was pleased
to be able to sell his business to
another family-owned company
that had the same core values.
Kennards is putting a lot
of new equipment into the
branches, which will be a plus
for customers.”
