The new site design features several tools to assist customers with
product selection in a user friendly format.
“
Traditionally, users navigated a large list of products and product
groups to find what they needed,” Paul Issai, Marketing Manager
at CAPS Australia said.
“
The latest web functionality is about making it easier and faster
to find information, so to help users who know little about air
compressors to narrow their product selection choices we developed
a compressed air selection guide.”
The compressed air selection guide (accessible from the site’s
home page) allows new and returning customers to refine their
choices by using custom-built ‘slider technology’,” Paul said.
“
If the customer knows just one main product attribute, then a
personalised results page, dynamically changing in real-time, will
be generated showing them a range of compressors that meet their
needs. If they move any of the parameter sliders up or down to
reflect different attributes, their choices will be further narrowed.”
The new CAPS web site also features what it calls Australia’s
largest resource library of industry information, giving customers
hard-to-find technical and safety data about compressed air and
power generation equipment.
“
Many of the resources found on the web are US-based or are
from Europe, and need to be adapted to be relevant to Australian
businesses. However we have brought together difficult to find
resources, appropriate for Australian users, which will be updated
regularly, all in the one place,” Paul said.
The site also aids users once they find the goods they want,
with the website able to recommend matching products that are
typically bought together.
“
For instance, when you buy an air compressor the website knows
exactly what accessories are compatible with it, saving visitors guess
work, time and money,” Paul said.
