Due to COVID-19 restrictions, a few of Dave Single’s old mates got together online to have a few quiet ones to celebrate the great man’s life.
Dave was a tireless worker and a dear friend to many who will be missed by all that know him.
“We lost a wonderful person in July when industry legend Dave Single lost his long battle with illness,” Doug Rawlings, EWPA Presidents, said.
“Dave was tireless, selfless, courageous, respected and a genuinely a wonderful man.
“His passion for the industry and endless drive for safety on worksites was only matched by his knowledge of what he was expertly talking about.
“Dave was my friend and mentor when I entered the industry 24 years ago and was my friend until the end.
“Our industry is so much better off due to Dave’s involvement and those who knew him are blessed that they had the opportunity to meet him.
“Our deepest sympathy goes out to his family. Rest in Peace Dave. You will be missed.”
When we are out of lockdown, the EWPA will plan a face-to-face event in NSW in memory of Dave (details to follow), and we look forward to seeing many of his industry friends there.
