A new micro-sized scissor lift, the Genie GS-1330m scissor lift, suitable for construction applications in space restricted or congested locations is heavy-duty, rental ready and soon to be available in Australia.
With a maximum platform height of 3.75m (12ft 4in) and a maximum working height of 5.75m (18ft 4in), the Genie GS-1330m scissor lift has a two-person, 227kg (500lb) capacity and weighs only 885kg (1,951lb).
Kurt Kinder, Genie National Sales Manager, Terex AWP Australia said: “Low-level access is a growing segment in the aerial access industry, with increasing pressure to replace ladders with safe, productive alternatives including applications beyond the typical job site, such as industrial and institutional facilities.
“Additionally, the growing need for productive solutions in low-floor loading applications is driving innovation in lightweight product segments. The new Genie GS-1330m scissor lift is designed to meet the needs of our customers in the ever-changing mobile elevated work platform market.”
Featuring an efficient, all-electric DC drive system with a quiet, zero-emissions operation, the Genie GS-1330m scissor lift has industry-leading runtime ensuring full-day productivity, Kurt said.
Operators can drive the new scissor lift at full height and in the stowed position, and it can climb up to 25% graded slopes.
“Since the Genie GS-1330m scissor lift weighs less than 907kg (2,000lb), it can access job sites previously off-limits to heavier slab scissors and vertical mast lifts,” Kurt said.
“The Genie GS-1330m scissor lift is also equipped with platform load sense, which will help operators understand when they have overloaded the platform.”
Plus the Genie GS-1330m scissor lift incorporates the Genie Smart Link control system, offering a familiar interface, as well as fully proportional lift and drive control for precise positioning in the work environment.
“The Genie Smart Link control system simplifies troubleshooting with onboard, easy-to-read and user-friendly machine adjustments and diagnostics, and it is compatible with the Genie Tech Pro Link hand-held diagnostic tool,” Kurt said.
Other features include: side-by-side platform guard rails for easy deck extension and retraction, diamond plate platform flooring, which provides a durable, long-life gripping surface; and with the link stack centred under the platform, the operator has a stable feel and optimal comfort while working at height.
“The new Genie GS-1330m scissor lift shares significant commonality with the Genie GS scissor lift family, including design features that enhance serviceability. For example, swing-out service trays allow for unobstructed access to all machine components, including the hydraulic and electrical systems, simplifying service and maintenance and ensuring machines can get back on rent, faster,” Kurt said.
“At Genie, we build high quality and productive machines that offer a high rental return on invested capital (ROIC) to customers worldwide and meet regional and global standards,” Kurt said.
The new scissor lift will be on display at HIRE19 in Melbourne, 22-23 May 2019.
