Power of partnership delivers customer and cost benefits As a supplier of new and used heavy equipment in Australia and New Zealand, the Porter Group has depended on Hydraulink for nearly 20 years for proper engineering and servicing of its hydraulic equipment. Supplying machinery nationally to industries where time is money and the benefits of uninterrupted production can be measured in thousands and millions of dollars, Porter Group has grown from its New Zealand origins to expanding operations throughout Australia, Papua New Guinea and Southern California. “Integral to our success formula is providing a seamless, stress-free relationship for our customers, who know they can depend on us to deliver what they want, where they want it, 24/7,” Porter Group Manager Simon Porter said. “We have built up customer- responsive networks throughout Australasia, so we can deliver exactly what’s needed in terms of new equipment customised to industry needs, or rental equipment delivered fast and backed with outstanding service. With heavy machinery, it is a big investment and reliability and safety is prized,” Simon said. The Group’s Rental Division and New Sales Division provide thousands of pieces of heavy machinery a year, including bulldozers, dump trucks, excavators, graders, loaders, rollers, water trucks, crane trucks and access equipment. Porter Group has expanded its relationship as Hydraulink has grown to more than 400 service points throughout Australia and New Zealand, supported by mobile units, providing hoses, fittings, adaptors and accessories and custom engineering and service for Porter’s rental and new equipment sales. “Hydraulink has the scale of network and depth of expertise we need to provide uniformly high standards of engineering and safety across diverse markets, all under the one brand. They are quick off the mark, well organised and self- motivated,” Simon said. Porter Group also depends on Hydraulink skills to keep its rental fleet in efficient shape, with high standards of utilisation, reliability and ultimately profitability for all involved. The group has, for example, more than 2500 items of heavy rental equipment throughout NZ, with much of it at its national headquarters in Hamilton NZ. Simon said with a fleet this size there is always a number undergoing maintenance at any one time, so the service provided by the new Hydraulink Hamilton branch (located on a neighbouring property) is critical to maintaining commitments to customers and profitability. “In addition to servicing the rental fleet, we also depend on Hydraulink engineering staff to fit out new machinery to customer specs. Different customers from different industries have hugely different needs, because they have very different jobs they want their new machines to do.” Hydraulink CEO Robin Simpson said Hydraulink shares Porter Group’s safety ethos and it can also deliver the same strong, uniform standards of safety, engineering and traceability across multiple sites and entire operations. n Contact 02 8785 4600 or visit: www.hydraulink.com.au EQUIPMENT GUIDE TO 2019 High performance forklifts High performance order pickers and forklifts at all levels D istributed in Australia by NTP Forklifts, Jungheinrich has launched a new generation of its EKS medium/ high level order pickers offering optimum performance with high storage density in a small space. The EKS has a staging-free triplex telescopic mast, unique in its class and at more than 14m, the EKS offers the largest order picking height among all vertical order pickers Jungheinrich Board Member for Marketing and Sales Christian Erlach said. “With a lifting speed of 0.5m per second, the EKS 412s is 25% faster than its predecessor, which is currently the fastest vertical order picker on the market,” Christian said. The new EKS 412s uses a fuel- efficient synchronous reluctance motor, halving the energy losses on the motor side and increasing the efficiency of the motor. The weight of the EKS has been reduced resulting in energy savings of more than 10%. Jungheinrich offers the EKS 412s with two battery options: proven lead-acid batteries and modern lithium-ion technology and guarantees the lead-acid battery powered EKS can cover two shifts with just one battery charge, saving time and reducing operating costs. “The use of lithium-ion technology guarantees high performance and maintenance freedom, fast charging time and a particularly long service life. Jungheinrich gives its customers a 100% satisfaction guarantee for its lithium-ion technology with a full conversion right,” Christian said. The transition-free strokes of the new telescopic mast avoid shock impacts and enable comfortable, while delivering high- performance operation. Intelligent assistance systems include a mobile personal protection and collision protection system. The Jungheinrich warehouse navigation system uses the Jungheinrich Logistics Interface software, so the truck can be safely integrated into the IT system landscape available to the customer. Using RFID transponders in the ground, the truck detects its current position within the aisle. The operator has to give the travel/lift command and the truck approaches the pallet location automatically in diagonal travel mode. New forklifts part of the new range Plus Jungheinrich also launched a new series of electric counterbalanced trucks, the high- performance EFG 6 Series electric forklift truck which can carry up to 9 tonnes at a load centre of 900mm for indoor and outdoor use. “The EFG 6 Series is available with both superior lithium-ion technology and proven lead-acid battery technology. Thanks to the sophisticated drive concept with two asynchronous drive motors and two synchronous reluctance lift motors, the EFG Series 6 delivers maximum power at minimum consumption. The EFG 6 Series is available in 14 different truck models with four different capacities of 6 - 9 tonnes, two load centres (600mm and 900mm) and battery sizes of 1,240Ah to 1,548Ah. The standard version with a long wheelbase absorbs all bumps and ensures a high level of travel comfort. The compact versions are shorter and therefore more agile. n Contact: 02 9760 0666 or visit: www.ntpforklifts.com.au or: www.jungheinrich.com.au NTP Forklifts Order Picker EKS4 Hydraulink’s new Hamilton facility, immediately adjacent to Porter Group national headquarters, from where Hydraulink responds 24/7 P66 HIRE AND RENTAL NEWS MAY 2019
