EQUIPMENT GUIDE TO 2019 Innovating products that help people do things a better way is the driving force behind Makinex and the sales growth we experience year on year, shows our products are having the right impact Providing a rental point of difference Health and safety ergonomics and providing a rental point of difference are driving uptake of Makinex equipment at independent hire business Bay 2 Bay Rental on the Mornington Peninsula. B ay 2 Bay Rental owner, Daniel Harvey said adding the Makinex equipment to its range has had a positive impact on growing its business by allowing the rental business to appeal to new applications in the construction and DIY markets. Now in business for eight years, Bay 2 Bay Rental stocks the Makinex Jack Hammer Trolley and Hose 2 Go and recently added the Dual Pressure Washer 4000 and Vinyl Floor Strippers to its hire fleet. The Makinex Jack Hammer Trolley and Hose 2 Go service a variety of construction markets including demolition and concrete cutting, Daniel said. “End users all agree on the Jack Hammer Trolley that it allows fast removal of tiles and is better for your back because you’re no longer on your hands and knees when trying to lift tiles,” Daniel said. “The Hose 2 Go has given us the opportunity to value-add when a customer is renting a demo saw, because we offer the Hose 2 Go as the water supply to their rental. The Makinex range of products is giving us a point of difference to the other hire and rental operators in the area which helps us generate new custom.” Makinex’s Rory Kennard said the Jackhammer Trolley suits most 16kg Jackhammers and allows removal of existing flooring or underlayment to begin preparation of the base. The trolley carries most of the weight while you position yourself behind the trolley to push it along. The Vinyl Floor Stripper is an industrial machine designed to remove materials such as vinyl, epoxy, glued carpet and cork from floors and is a great addition to the Jackhammer to remove cementitious screed or flexible adhesive. “Makinex floor removal products help reduce fatigue, increase speed of removal and preparation and minimise damage to substrate,” Rory said. The Makinex Dual Pressure Washer is a rotary cleaner and wand pressure washer in one machine which cleans the floor surface, to help determine the best grit for polishing. The Hose 2 Go is a 14ltr constant pressure portable water supply unit which doesn’t require a battery or power and is great for spraying a mist when applying liquid densifiers for crack, air hole or displaced aggregate repairs. It can also be used for wash down and clean up, Rory said. A world of opportunities at the World of Concrete Early in February Makinex attended World of Concrete (WoC) 2019 in Las Vegas to showcase its product range to the concrete and masonry industries and keep up-to-date with what other companies are doing. Lauren Kelly, Business Development Manager from Makinex USA said: “The response to our products was extremely positive and we exceeded our sales targets for the event by more than 10%. In addition to this we received a lot of media interest with over 10 industry magazines attending our press conference and participated in two one on one interviews. “The US is a hot house for trade events and we participate in many of them including the International Surfaces Trade Show and the American Rental Association (ARA) Show,” Lauren said. “Innovating products that help people do things a better way is the driving force behind Makinex and the sales growth we experience year on year, shows our products are having the right impact. We have offices in Australia, USA and the UK and partnerships in Europe, Japan and China.” Makinex has been attending the WoC show since 2017. n Contact: 1300 795 953 or visit: www.makinex.com.au Husqvarna launches new compaction and concrete ranges Husqvarna has entered a new market segment with the release of its tamping rammers, soil and asphalt plate compactors, reversible plate compactors, duplex rollers, concrete vibrators, screeds and trowels.
