EQUIPMENT GUIDE TO 2019 Genie’s major new product launches The new Genie GS-1330m scissor lift and the Genie Z-45 XC articulating boom will be on display for the first time at HIRE19, as well as its fuel and electric hybrid model of the Genie Z-60/37 FE boom lift, originally launched in 2017. G enie’s new GS-1330m scissor lift adds to the Genie Xtra Capacity family, which includes the Genie S-85 XC and Genie SX-135 XC boom lifts, and the new model on display at HIRE19 is a forerunner to the Genie S-65 XC and Genie SX-125 XC boom lifts to be released later in 2019. Several accessory products will also be launched at the show including the Genie Lift Connect telematics fleet management solution, and the Genie Lift Guard ™ contact alarm system for slab scissor lifts and vertical masts. Plus, the Genie Tech Pro ™ Link handheld diagnostics device that allows users access to real-time data, calibration or fault code information directly from the machine, will also be unveiled at HIRE19. Genie GS-1330m scissor lift The new micro-sized scissor lift, Genie’s GS-1330m scissor lift was created in response to customer demand for compact manoeuvrability in low-level access and spaces, and will be available in Australia and New Zealand from June 2019, Kurt Kinder, Genie National Sales Manager, Terex AWP Australia said. See page 34 for the full story. Genie Lift Connect Solution Launching its telematics program that focuses on providing actionable information to monitor and manage aerial fleets, the Genie Lift Connect solution provides flexibility in how customers can access and leverage data. Plus, it offers more transparency into understanding and utilising the information than other offerings in the market, Kurt said. “From knowing how equipment is performing or how often a piece is being utilised to where each unit is or when it is ready for maintenance, machine data can provide a lot of insight to rental businesses. “The world is changing. One technology opening new opportunities for rental businesses is the use of telematics.” With the introduction of standard APIs, customers can leverage data frommixed fleets and multiple OEM telematics platforms. The Genie Lift Connect solution provides data in two ways: Customers can utilise the Genie Lift Connect portal and all of its features, or, if with an existing system, customers can consume the data via a standard API. “Initially, the Genie Lift Connect information will be ‘descriptive,’ focusing on what’s currently happening with a machine including how many hours are on a machine, where the machine physically is and if there are any fault codes on it. Over time, Genie Lift Connect data can be leveraged on a larger scale and used for ‘predictive’ and ‘prescriptive’ activities, such as predicting failures in the field and proactively prescribing maintenance and service based on how the equipment is being used,” Kurt said. Genie Lift Connect solutions will be in Australia late 2019. Genie Lift Guard Contact Alarm The Genie Lift Guard Contact Alarm system for slab scissor lifts and vertical masts is designed to provide a secondary operator protection equivalent to that available on boom lifts. It activates when an obstruction contacts any one of the whiskers mounted on the platform of a scissor and vertical mast lift application. “The Genie Lift Guard Contact Alarm alerts operators, occupants and ground personnel to a potential hazard,” Kurt said. Additional layer of guarding Now available for all Genie scissor lifts and vertical lifts, the latest Genie Smart Link Rev P software includes functionality that allows machine operators to adjust the maximum platform height restriction. “The height restriction functionality is intended for use as an added layer of secondary guarding in applications with restricted access, low level ceilings, or overhead obstructions. It can be used in its own application or in conjunction with the Genie Lift Guard Contact Alarm to provide added operator protection,” Kurt said. Hand-held diagnostics device “With convenience, comfort and accessibility in mind, the Genie Tech Pro Link tool is a handheld diagnostics device that allows users access to real-time data, calibration or fault code information and gauges and to make setting adjustments such as speed and more, from the palm of the hand,” Kurt said. The new device combines smart, simple features with an integrated flashlight and magnetic attachment for easy, hands-free operation. “For Genie booms, the Genie Tech Pro Link device offers the advantage of being able to work from both ground and platform controls. For Genie scissor lifts, this means the ability to stand upright while using the Genie Smart Link diagnostics control system at ground level.” n Visit: www.genielift.com Crommelins compact compactor compels Featuring a lifting bar and two solid-type wheels, Crommelins newest compactor model is the 45kg CC40H plate compactor. “F olding to 750 x 310 x 720mm it will fit in the smallest of spaces,” Crommelins New Products Manager Kevin Kitchen said. “Every week, we review our products and discuss what customers might need.
