EQUIPMENT Cordless tools cut the cord on job sites Reducing the need for electricity on-site and potential trip hazards through use of powerful, portable and rechargeable batteries, three of Kennards Hire flagship branches in Richmond (VIC), Moorabbin (VIC) and Artarmon (NSW), have rolled out a suite of cordless products to complement the company’s standard 240V and petrol fuelled equipment. W ith a range of cordless power tool options, Stihl and Milwaukee brands feature heavily among the 30 products at the new cordless branches. Equipment available will include a range of cordless water transfer pumps, magnetic base drills and demolition saws from Milwaukee. The three branches will also be fitted with Milwaukee customer experience centres. These dynamic touch points will allow customers to use the equipment to see cordless is as good, if not better, than corded or petrol units. Braden Murrin, Kennards Hire Head of Assets and Procurement, said offering a cordless alternative to the modern consumer was an easy decision to make. “Cordless tools are now as powerful and in some case more powerful than their traditional corded and petrol equivalent. Our large range of cordless tools delivers consistent power, durability and lengthy run-time for jobs big and small.” Select Milwaukee cordless gear features the dynamic ‘One Key’ technology. Customers are able to adjust the equipment settings from their mobile phone or portable device. n Visit: www.kennards.com.au Light weight portable pump goes mining and stays in shape Part of Aussie Pumps ‘Quik Prime’ pump range, Aussie Pumps has developed a ‘Mine Boss’ version of its popular diesel drive fire pumps, the ‘Mr T’ twin impeller high pressure pump which will deliver heads of up to 90m (140psi). T he pumps will prime from 7.6m (vertical lift) and produce flows of up to 500lpm and the company claims the Mr T is the best light weight portable high pressure fire pump in the world. Powered by Yanmar L100 10hp, electric start air cooled diesel engine, the pump is built into a 38mm hot dipped galvanised frame with centre mounted lifting bar. “We’ve seen what happens to light weight pumps and other equipment on construction and mining sites when they’re picked up by an excavator and trundled over to the new location and dropped,” Aussie Pumps’ Product Manager, Brad Farrugia said. “Conventional commercial frames get bent out of shape fast. Our Mine Boss frames are built like a Cat D10,” he said. The pumps are fitted with e-stop and battery isolation as standard. Bunded trays and trolley mounts are also available as an option. “We even supply fire extinguishers as part of the kit,” Brad said. Fire pumps can be teamed with a Rapid poly tank on a fast attack vehicle or, coupled to a larger tanker, depending on site and application. Aussie Pumps believe every mine should have a portable mine spec fire pump on hand, big pumps take time to mobilise. The Aussie pumps are compact, relatively light weight and highly efficient, Brad said. The Aussie Mine Boss range of pumps are built at Australian Pump’s Castle Hill site in Sydney and now operate in Australia as well as on mine sites in Africa, South-East Asia and through the South Pacific. n Visit: www.aussiepumps.com.au Kennards Hire has rolled out a suite of cordless products to complement the company’s standard 240V and petrol fuelled equipment Aussie’s Mr T fire pump Mine Boss version includes integrated fire extinguisher, emergency stop Kennards Hire partners with Tamworth Music Festival Kennards Hire also partnered with the Tamworth Country Music Festival 2019 18 January – 27 January 2019, assisting with equipment for the celebration of Country Music culture and heritage at the numerous concerts and live performances at various venues. n P60 HIRE AND RENTAL NEWS FEBRUARY 2019
