ACCESS IN ACTION Scaffold system good for shoring, facade, events and industrial applications Developed for maximum versatility with safety and high efficiency distinguishing it from alternatives, Doka Formwork Australia’s modular scaffold system combines the speed of erection of a system scaffold with the flexibility of traditional scaffolding systems. T he system features a sophisticated ring-lock system that simplifies installation even by inexperienced workforces. It consists of modular components such as vertical standards, horizontal ledgers and transoms and vertical diagonals that can be connected to a fixed rosette in various positions, Head of Australian Sales and Marketing, Alexander Macho said. “All modular components are developed and tested according to the European standards EN12810 / EN12811 and can be used to create safe working platforms for all load classes, 1 to 6, up to 600kg/m 2 ,” Alexander said. “With this rentable working scaffold system, reinforcement operations can be carried out safely and quickly. It is also a safe modular scaffold for access systems as well as forming and reinforcing works. “Speed, safety and efficiency are its key benefits and decades of Doka engineering and development have resulted in 30% less weight of scaffolding being needed in any given application than would be the case with more conventional scaffolding systems,” Alexander said. “The versatility of Doka scaffolding means it is suitable not only for facade scaffolding, but also for shoring, event scaffolding and even industrial scaffolding. “Versatility also makes it simple to add catch decks with integrated ladder systems or to integrate stair access towers into the flooring system.” Doka Formwork Australia is the local subsidiary of the Austrian-based Doka Group which has more than 160 sales and logistics facilities in over 70 countries. It develops, manufactures and distributes scaffolding and formwork technology for use in the construction sector. “Doka is geared to support customers in any phase of their formwork projects, as a single- source for products, services, planning, project management and logistics,” Alexander said. “We can best do that by truly understanding a project’s individual challenges. This takes a lot of pressure off site engineers and foremen and lets them accurately calculate the costs of the forming operations. “We focus on products and on construction processes. How can our customers achieve more with less expenditure? Which detail can be optimised, which formwork service provides cost savings? “This mindset and close co-operation with our customers helps develop innovative solutions for floor formwork, wall formwork, climbing systems and load-bearing towers, leading to more efficient, better and safer building processes.” Doka Formwork Australia is a new member of the HRIA and has branches in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane. It has been active in the local market since 2011, primarily in the residential and commercial construction markets. In the high-rise sector Doka has more than 40 years’ experience with self-climbing formwork. In 2017 the company successfully carried out its 1,000th high-rise project and is involved in construction of the Central Park Tower in New York, the world’s tallest residential building. Doka project management can assist customers during the project development stage, decision-making stage, operations scheduling, execution and completion of construction. “Certainly if a customer wants something as simple as 100m 2 of facade scaffolding we can sell or rent that,” Alexander said. n Contact: 1800 DOKA AUS or visit: www.doka.com/au Major projects have included South Africa’s Greenpoint stadium in Cape Town, the Muskrat Falls, hydropower plant in Canada and the Aurora building, residential tower in Melbourne New-Gen electric rough-terrain MEWPs from Haulotte H aulotte is launching the Pulseo Generation electric range of rough terrain self-propelled booms in Australia early in 2019, the HA20 LE PRO. The launch follows the company’s announcement at Intermat in Paris in April last year, (international exhibition for construction and infrastructure) that all future self-propelled boom products launched by Haulotte will be electric powered. The first Pulseo Generation electric MEWP, the HA20 LE PRO offers silent operation, indoors or out on any surface, even on rough terrain and makes it suitable for work in downtown areas and low-emission zones, as well as on green construction sites. Equipped with non-marking tyres, the new HA20 LE PRO offers oscillating axles and 4-wheel drives to ensure optimal adherence and stability for outdoor work. Ultra-fast elevation speed, 360° continuous turret rotation and simultaneous movements work together to enhance productivity, the company said. Dual-load models make it possible to increase the load capacity while adapting the working envelope, thereby ensuring stability. High-capacity batteries and the ability to lower the basket by force of gravity with no power consumption maximise battery life for a full day’s work. If extended battery power is required, the on-board range extender engine can rapidly recharge the batteries, while the machine retains its full operating capacity during the charge cycle. At the end of a shift, the built-in charger and its smart power management module optimise both the charge and life span of batteries. n Visit: www.haulotte.com.au P40 ACCESS IN ACTION FEBRUARY 2019
