ACCESS IN ACTION Skyjack moving into Chinese market Skyjack is now fulfilling the scissor and boom equipment needs of Beijing Hongyu Zhiheng, a rental house of scissor lifts and other construction equipment operating across much of Northern China. “I t is our first time buying Skyjack products and we chose to enter this new relationship with them due to their reputation for machines that are easy to service and maintain,” Mr Chai, owner, at Beijing Hongyu Zhiheng said. “Due to customer demand, it was time to increase our stock. With the addition of Skyjack machines we will now be able to offer a more diversified line up to our customers.” The order consisted of Skyjack’s SJIII 3219, DC electric scissor lifts, which have a maximum working height of 25ft (7.62m), and a compact stowed height of just 78.5” (1.99m). The company also decided on the SJIII 4632 electric scissor lifts, which have a maximum working height 38ft (11.58m) and 4ft (1.22m) extension deck as standard. Beijing Hongyu Zhiheng has slowly been breaking into the boom market, and they added to that with Skyjack’s SJ63 AJ. “In addition to stocking a new customer with scissor lifts, Skyjack is also proud because this marks our continued success and growth of boom sales into Northern China’s rental sector,” Jack Dai, account manager for sales in China said. Skyjack’s SJ63 AJ boasts a working height of 69ft (21.21m), horizontal reach of 40ft (12.19m), and an up-and-over clearance of 27.5ft (8.38m). n Visit: www.skyjack.com Skyjack has supplied scissor and boom equipment to Beijing Hongyu Zhiheng rental company in Northern China Secondary guarding for scissors Designed to reduce the risk of entrapment caused by inadvertent machine operation, Skyjack’s Secondary Guarding Lift Enable (SGLE) has been introduced as an option for use on vertical mast, DC scissor, and rough terrain scissor lifts. “S kyjack is committed to creating equipment that contributes to safe workplaces and our machines are designed with a variety of safety measures in mind as a standard,” David Hall, Product and Business Development Manager at Skyjack UK said. “Skyjack was one of the first OEMs to release boom lift options for secondary guarding. In doing so Skyjack understood there is no ‘one size fits all’ solution.” Most recently a similar focus has become current on scissor product. “Skyjack, when introducing SGLE, paid particular attention to the provision of an additional measure all while maintaining the utility and simple operation of the aerial platform,” David said. “With Skyjack’s SGLE, both joystick and tamper-proof secondary enables must be activated to allow the platform to lift; the release of either will stop the functions immediately. The ergonomics are such the operator’s body is kept in an upright position and away from the railings; mitigating the risk of entrapment. The secondary enable button is not used for lowering the platform or for driving; those functions remain joystick-enable only.” SGLE is suitable for all Skyjack scissor lift and vertical mast lift models, and is available as an optional direct factory install or aftermarket accessory. n Skyjack’s Secondary Guarding Lift Enable (SGLE) has been introduced as an option for use on vertical mast, DC scissor, and rough terrain scissor lifts New premises, new compact spider crane range At its annual (2018) Moni-Tour event at its new Sydney premises in Seven Hills during October last year, Monitor Lifts introduced its new Hoeflon Compact Spider Cranes and hosted networking events, demonstrations, displays and product launches.
