ACCESS in ACTION Technical documentation when you need it – Haulotte goes digital Haulotte users can now access technical documentation directly on their smartphone or tablet following its launch of a new app powered by Appranet. Registered users can access operations or training manuals and machine specifications plus follow links for further information like spare parts manuals within the app. According to Operations Manager, Evan Goulis: “We were getting several calls a week from users looking for copies of operation manuals which were tying up our technical support teams. The new app means anyone can access the technical information they need on the go and our experts' time is freed up to answer other technical support enquiries.” The app works in two ways to provide the best possible user experience, Evan said. “Users can explore the library of documents available broken down by Haulotte machine type and product range. “Alternatively you can scan the QR code sticker, now located on Haulotte machines which will take the user directly to the technical information for that particular model. “Documents will be updated regularly, so users can be assured the app contains the most recent version of technical information related to that machine. If the document you are looking for is not there or you need another language, you can access the Haulotte e-technical portal through the app or on the Haulotte website. (www.haulotte.com.au/service/ manuals-documentation) “The app is available for download in the Apple and Google play stores. Users can register via the Haulotte website (haulotte.com.au/documentapp ) and will receive log-in details via email. “Or just scan any QR code on a Haulotte machine and the prompts will take you to the relevant pages,” Evan said. “We hope this provides an even greater level of customer service to our customers. As always our technical support and service teams can be contacted 24/7 on 1300 207 683.” For more information visit: www.haulotte.com.au/documentapp EWPA Training updates: new course, trainer credentials and paper phasing out New courses from the EWPA In February 2018 the EWPA launched an Australian industry first – MEWP Supervisor Course. This was developed to provide site supervisors with practical knowledge regarding the safe use of MEWPs on sites where multiple MEWPs are in use. At the same time, the Advanced Boom Operator Course was also launched. This is aimed at users of MEWPs with operating characteristics that are more complex and include functions such as: extending axles, sequential lifting, envelope control, dual rated capacity, variable leg position and electronically controlled platform levelling. Both of these courses can be delivered by EWPA Senior AccreditedTrainers (SATs), who are now working through the program. Trainer and assessor credentials The EWPA advises under the Standards for RTOs 2015, by 1 April 2019 trainers will need to satisfy the qualification requirements: • TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment; • Or TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, and one of the following: (i) TAELLN411 Address adult language, literacy and numeracy skills or its successor or; (ii) TAELLN401A Address adult language, literacy and numeracy skills and one of the following; (iii) TAEASS502 Design and develop assessment tools or its successor or; (iv) TAEASS502A Design and develop assessment tools or; (v) TAEASS502B Design and develop assessment tools; • Or a diploma or higher-level qualification in adult education. Paper YC/GC applications The EWPA advises Paper Yellow Card and Gold Card applications are being phased out. Accredited trainers still using this mode of submission will be given a grace period of six months. On 1 January 2019 only electronic submissions will be accepted via the EWPA app or AT web portal. Those still using the paper applications can already login to the EWPA app or AT web portal and start submitting applications electronically. The app can be used offline if delivering training in remote areas or in areas without reception and applications can then be submitted once the trainer has reception. Extensive videos on how to use the app and trainer portal can be found on the AT instructions page once logging in to member services on the website. Unused paper applications can be returned to the National Office by 31 March 2019 and the equivalent electronic numbers will be allocated.
