RIA CEO James Oxenham said SAT, through its long-standing relationship with Registered Training Organisations and government bodies, can source relevant, targeted training for the hire industry and can also where applicable facilitate state and federal funding to cover the costs of this training. “SAT has been working with some HRIA members since 2010 and understands the needs of the hire industry.  If you have an immediate training need for your business, your existing staff, or have recently recruited or are considering recruiting new staff the HRIA encourages you to reach out to SAT. SAT will respond to all emails and phone calls as a matter of priority,” James said. Stephanie Hiskins, SAT Head of Business Development provided Hire and Rental News with background information about options available to HRIA members. Q: What is the new partnership and why did it develop? A: On 21 September 2017, Strategic Alignment Training (SAT) was appointed by the HRIA as its preferred training advisor. SAT’s founder Aileen Hiskins, has 30+ years’ experience in learning and development. SAT has been providing training to the hire and rental industry since 2010 working closely with a couple of members and assisting those members by delivering or sourcing training solutions mapped to their business needs. Through those relationships SAT grew to really understand the requirements and needs of the Hire and Rental Industry and is passionate about its growth. Q: What does SAT do/offer? and how is this delivered? A: SAT offer training programs customised to the hire and rental industry. Those programs include ‘Mate to Manager’ – a program designed to provide a new leader with the skills to make the transition from being one of the team to leading the team. SAT also Funding for staff training assistance offers services to de-risk business such as OHS audits. In addition to the training services, SAT also assists in accessing national training full qualifications such as Certificate 111 or IV or Diploma in Workplace Health and Safety, Warehousing and Logistics, Transport, Customer Engagement, Leadership and Management or single unit qualifications such as Load and Unload Cargo. SAT will work with members to determine training needs of the business, select suitable training providers and where applicable access any funding available to offset the cost of training. Once the required training and training provider is selected a training plan will be created to ensure training is delivered in the most appropriate way for the business. This may include on job training, face-to-face workshops, online training, coaching/mentoring or networking events. Q: What are the benefits for HRIA members? A: HRIA members have the benefit of SAT’s experience in learning and development in the hire industry. SAT is a one stop source of advice for member’s training needs. SAT can do the leg work for members to assist them in choosing the most appropriate training and funding opportunity. SAT has appointed a dedicated relationship manager Stephanie Hiskins to respond to any enquires related to training. Q: Is there a limit to the access to training with SAT? A: Training is available nationally. Access to funding for training differs from state to state and SAT can assist with understanding this. Accredited and non-accredited training is available to all HRIA members. SAT can assist in providing or sourcing any training based on the needs of the business. Q: What about business grants? A: SAT also keeps abreast of grants available to industry and is in the application process for a grant to provide funding for leadership of women in industries with less female representation such as HRIA.
