The annual Roder HTS Hocker Expo showcases the full product range of marquees and structures for the event industry, military and industrial installations. The Expo includes industry related companies but is predominantly structures and marquees produced by Roder HTS Hocker. The show is held over four days (Wednesday to Saturday) and last year was held 15-18 November and had an Americana theme. Australian Roder HTS Hocker representatives Jeff Stevens and Peter Thorpe invited seven Aussie customers to visit the Expo on a four day tour. German Tent Expo a highlight tour for Aussies The BMW Motorsport two storey structure, 15m wide and 45m long, was the showcase structure at the Roder HTS Hocker annual in-house Expo in Germany last November. The Australian contingent included Sam Whyte, Neil Wallis and Peter Lancken fromAustralian Temporary Structures and Your Event Solution; Alan and James Weeding fromWeeding Hire in Launceston, Tasmania; Stephen Palmer from Territory Events Hire in Darwin, Northern Territory; and Tom Carroll from Range Event Hire in Toowoomba, Queensland. While visiting the Aussies spent Wednesday at the Expo; Thursday on a personal factory tour provided by Jeff and Peter and then back to the Expo for an evening meal. Friday was a two hour road trip through Koblenz and over the Rhine River to visit Gorges Tent Event – the contractors who construct, transport and store the Audi, Porshce, Hankook Tyres hospitality and merchandise structures for the DTM (German Touring Car) racing series held in Germany and Europe. Jeff said the Gorges Tent Event is one of the most professionally run event outfits in the industry and was “an unbelievable experience for those in the industry”. “Meeting Karl-Heinz Gorges for coffee was the icing on the cake,” Jeff said. Roder HTS Hocker customers who wish to attend the show are provided return airport transfers from Frankfurt with complimentary hospitality including food and drinks while attending the expo.
