Available on the MLT 635- 130 PS+ and MLT 737-130 PS+ models and has a maximum speed of 40km/h; • M-Varioshift transmission: this corresponds to traction operations of varying degrees of difficulty. The JSM enables transition from low speed to high speed via two gears. It also comes with the ‘Eco Mode’ system to manage better the machine’s consumption. The M-Varioshift transmission is available on the MLT 630-105 V CP and MLT 630-105 V models; • M-Vario Plus transmission: this new generation of continuously variable transmission (CVT) has a single gear between 0 and 40km/h. This transmission provides fuel savings estimated by the Reduce TCO program. The M-Vario Plus gearbox is on the MLT 635-140 V+, MLT 741-140 V+ and MLT 940-140 V+ models. The NewAg is equipped with three new ‘Intelligent Hydraulics’ concepts. First, the ‘Quicklift’ enables the operator to extend or retract the telescope and lift the boom simultaneously. The ‘Return to Load’ memorises the exact angle of the initial position of the bucket, enabling an automatic return to the right level. The other innovation in terms of hydraulics is an option dedicated to fasten boom lowering and movement. Called ‘Regenerative Hydraulics’, it uses gravity to save unused hydraulic power and generate a gain in productivity. More than 100 attachments are offered including a new CBG 2450/1700 bucket with a total capacity of 1,700 litres for improved efficiency. Chair of Safe Work Australia, Diane Smith- Gander said: “Work-related injury and disease cost our community $61.8 billion a year.” This economic cost equates to approximately 4% of Australia’s gross domestic product-two-and-a-half times more than what is spent on national defence. Working smart is key to preventing workplace-accidents, SafeWork Australia said. The organisation offers the following tips for safety. 1. Always wear personal protective equipment when required Common workplace injuries can be caused by not wearing the correct protective equipment. Tradespeople who work on rough surfaces without using pressure-dispersing kneepads risk affecting the long-term National campaign: Five tips to help keep you safe at work performance of their knees. Without these kneepads, pressure from the upper body is solely focused on your knees which can damage them and also cause lower back pain. 2. Keep your body moving throughout the day Maintaining movement throughout the day, like using the stairs instead of lifts, going for walks during lunch breaks and visiting a colleague’s desk instead of sending them an email improves your wellbeing and reduces the risk of heart disease, diabetes and arthritis. 3. Keep your desk and office space organised Cluttered office spaces with loose paper, electrical cables, bags and computers all competing for limited space. Tangled cabling from devices in the office is a common culprit for workplace injuries as a careless worker can easily trip and hurt themselves or damage equipment. Using simple, tangle- and mess-free solutions for cables on your desk, along the floor, across the wall, and when on the go can help to keep your desk and workspace free from loose cables that you could easily trip over. 4. Keep your back straight A bad back could mean many trips to chiropractor or physiotherapist. Keeping your back straight during the day without slouching or hunching helps prevent developing upper and lower back pain in the long term. 5. Use a mobile device holder to prevent distractions while driving Trucks, vans and cars during work are mobile workplaces. Mobile devices like smartphones and GPS can be dangerous distractions. If you need to use a mobile device in your vehicle, make sure you are using it within the law.
