Kubota has announced two new models
to its mini excavator line-up, the KX016-4
and KX018-4 replacing the popular KX41-3.
Both new units incorporate the heart of
the KX41-3 but with more features.
Both the KX016-4 and KX018-4 fall
below the two tonne mark, with total
operating weights of 1700kgs and 1570kgs
respectively, including standard operators
weight of 80kg.
Key features added include single lever
track adjustment, an out front indicator
panel and sturdy steel bonnets.
A completely flat operator platform
allows the operator to easily enter and exit
Kubota unveils two new models
the machine without having to navigate
past controls. Incorporating steel bonnets
and single lever opening mechanisms,
durability and serviceability are improved.
These units also mark the first to be
produced in Kubota’s new production
facility in Germany. Japan will continue
to be the home for the vast majority of
Kubota excavators, however following a
number of natural disasters in Asia the
move to spread production facilities across
continents ensures Kubota safeguards its
supply.

Wacker Neuson’s new
demolition breaker the EH
100
n offers extremely high
demolition performance
with a single stroke impact
energy of 100 Joule
combined with a good
power to weight ratio.
Dennis Vitze, Product
Manager for Demolition
Technology at Wacker
Neuson, said: “Our idea
was to move into a higher
performance class in
the demolition segment
with our new demolition
breaker, while remaining
easy to transport and cost
efficient. This goal has been definitively
achieved with the EH 100.”
The single stroke impact energy of 100
Joules is packed into a compact
hood with an absolutely new
design. The ergonomically
shaped, fully spring-mounted
hood allows the operator to
guide the demolition breaker
while maintaining visual contact
with the chisel’s tip. Plus this is
bolstered by the low hand/arm
vibrations (HAV) of 5.8 m/s”.
Wacker Neuson’s proven
hollow piston percussion
system with striker rod is also
in operation in the EH 100 and
does so without wear-prone
seals and gaskets. Also well-
known from other electric
demolition breakers by Wacker
Neuson is the wear-free asynchronous
motor with brushless drive.

An innovative lifting solution provided
by Kennards Lift & Shift, was employed to
position a popular exhibit in Sculpture by
the Sea, held at Bondi in Sydney.
Two 1.5 tonne gantries were linked with
a three tonne girder trolley to achieve the
3
tonne lifting capacity needed to lift the
work into its allocated place.
Bill Findlay, of Rhodes Architectural
Stone Sydney, said, by using the double
gantry and two chain blocks, they were
able to install the sculpture in seven hours,
whereas normally it would take two days
and the system gave us very fine control.
