Western Australia-based pipeline
specialist company, Adtech FRP, is
managing and maintaining the newest
addition to its fleet, a Hyundai R320LC-9
crawler excavator, using the Hyundai Hi-
Mate remote monitoring system.
The Hi-Mate GPS satellite system
allows Adtech FRP to remotely evaluate
machine performance, access diagnostic
information, and verify machine
locations, helping Adtech FRP to simplify
the logistics of remote equipment
management.
The Hi-Mate system’s capabilities
are particularly important to Adtech
FRP, given machines often work up to
5,000
km away from head office near
Perth, with the R320LC-9 currently
working at Moomba, 770km north of
Adelaide.

We have installed glass reinforced
epoxy pipes for Australia’s largest oil
producing companies for the past 25 years.
Most of our installation work is in central
Australia because it’s rich in oil deposits,”

excavator was being transported from Port
Headland in Western Australia to South
Australia, we received a call from Hyundai,
Western Australia, to advise us the
machine was going across the
Nullabor. The tracking system
picked up the shifting machine
3,500
kms away, which blew us
away,” Steve said.
The Hi-Mate system’s
capabilities extend to daily
reporting with work history on
engine hours, fuel consumption
and machinery travel hours and
alerts deliverable by email or
text message.
Hi-Mate can also be used to
create a virtual fence around
the machine to prevent it from
leaving a specific area without
reporting to the authorised user.
Should a thief try to breach the
set boundary, or an operator
leave a designated safe zone,
an alarm is triggered and the
system alerts fleet managers
via SMS or email. The system also allows
users to track the precise location of the
machine.
