Raw Hire is again pitching
in to assist locals, community
groups and not-for-profit
organisations in the
Pilbara, with new dedicated
community buses, in Karratha,
Port Hedland, and soon in
Newman.
The 21-seat coaster buses
are reserved for short-term
hire to locals, or under
an in-kind sponsorship
arrangement. The buses will
be available to assist schools,
sporting groups and charities
throughout the Pilbara to
participate in community
activities.
Raw Hire directors Sean
and Lisa Clarke said they were
excited with the initiative that was a
continuation of the company’s dedication
to the Pilbara, recognising the local
businesses and community, which has
helped grow and shape Raw Hire.

Raw Hire introduces community buses
Taj Clarke, Chevii-J Clarke and Raw Hire directors Sean Clarke and
Lisa Clarke with one of the new dedicated community buses
and local charities to their events, but their
availability has always been limited, with
buses usually hired on a long-term basis to
the resource sector.
“
We realised this left locals with limited
options when needing to hire a bus for
community purposes. As the founders
of the business, we have
become part of the fabric
of the Pilbara over 15 years,
with a strong commitment
to the communities in which
we operate, so we’re always
looking to make a difference.”
The first sponsored
community bus booking has
come from the Port Hedland
Cricket Association, which
used the bus to travel to the
T20 Qualifier tournament in
Newman, where they competed
against Fortescue, West Pilbara
and Newman.
PHCA spokesperson Mike
McQuie said: “We jumped at
the chance to utilise the Raw
Hire community bus, particularly
as travel costs are a big expense in the
Pilbara when covering long distances to
compete against the other towns.”
The company will be opening their third
Pilbara branch in Newman later this year.
