INDUSTRY IN FOCUS
The more people you get to like your
page, the bigger your reach or presence
across their network of friends on
Facebook. The average Facebook user has
around 229 friends; all these friends see
the content the person that likes your page
interacts with on your Facebook page.
Connect with industry leaders via social
media and create inbound links back to
your business via discussions, posts and
blog comments. Create a buzz about
your business and direct them to your
website and to your social media pages, in
particular, Facebook, encouraging them to
interact and keeping you top of mind.
Find businesses, people and brands
you want to connect with or promote
your business to on Facebook, like their
page and post, comment and/or like their
comments where relevant. Don’t post or
comment unless you have something of
value to say, remember you want them to
like you, not stay away from you.
Identify your target audience so you can
deliver content that attracts them to your
page, keeps them there and potentially
converts them to a customer. Identify their
How can I attract customers to my Facebook page?
gender, age, location, occupation, their
needs, their motivations and their concerns.
This information can also help create a
Facebook advertising campaign which also
allows for geotargeting (reaching only
people that are in your area).
Think like your customers; what would
they like to know and use this to create
your content. Convert Facebook and social
media followers into leads by directing
them to a landing page where you can
gather contact details. This could be a
page on your website for signing up for a
newsletter or you could create an offer or
competition to get them there.
Create a ‘call to action’ that drives
Facebook users to like your page and
then to sign up for the offer, generating
contact details and potential leads.
Post information your customers are
interested in and content that will create
conversations. If you have an event, create
and post about it on Facebook and have a
landing page where they can register and
you can update them with emails.
Post about new products and services.
There is no better way to get this out there
than to promote it on Facebook but keep
it simple, let them contact you to find out
more. Engage with your followers; if they
comment or ask a question, talk to them.
Create a blog about your industry or
business and post the blog updates on your
page. Always keep your blog interesting,
timely and fresh and not just a sales push.
Don’t preach to them, engage with them.
Encourage your followers to like your post
or comment; this will promote your page
throughout their network.
If you have videos of your business or
how to’ or informational videos, post these
on Facebook. Find the apps to link your
YouTube, LinkedIn and Twitter accounts
to your Facebook page allowing you to
showcase their content as well.
